The tpic f this unit is the schl trip.The fcus f this unit n grammar is the past tense. This lessn is the third ne which fcuses n develping students' reading skills. Cmbined with the listening in sectin B, the tpic f this article is schl trip. The text type is jurnal. The tw diaries can be divided int three parts, namely the beginning, the bdy, and the ending. The whle article is clearly structured and substantial, which can prvide ideas and help fr students' subsequent writing.Thrugh reading, students can accumulate sme adjective expressins that describe things, and at the same time can further cnslidate the rules f variatin and crrespnding sentence patterns f the general past tense f verbs. By analyzing lng sentences, students can accumulate relevant expressins and advanced phrases.Finally, by cmparing the cntents f the tw diaries, students can sublimate the theme. Different peple can have different pinins abut the same thing. We need t respect the views f thers and maintain a psitive and ptimistic attitude twards life at all times, even in difficult situatins.
Analysis f the students
There are 54 students in the class. The verall English level f students is in the lwer level, and they are classified as pr students. After the first year f study, sme students' English level has been greatly imprved, and their English sense has imprved. Students' ability t speak, read and write in English is very lacking. The vast majrity f students d nt have the cnfidence t speak English, but it is better fr students t have a greater interest in learning English. Students' independent learning ability, cperative learning ability, and knwledge transfer and applicatin ability are very limited. Fr sme basic reading strategies, such as skimming and intensive reading, althugh students have received a lt f practice, mre than half f students still d nt understand hw t use apprpriate reading skills.
