根据第三段关键句“Mick tk parts frm each t make a new set f wheels fr the by.”(米克从每个自行车上取下零件,为这个男孩做了一套新的轮子。)和第四段内容“ Wrd spread, and within the year, he had fixed up dzens f bikes fr lcal kids whse parents culdn’t affrd t buy new nes.”(消息传开了,在这一年里,他为父母买不起新自行车的当地孩子修好了几十辆自行车。)
根据画线单词上文“The twn’s frmer plice chief saw the pst and dnated tw used bicycles. Mick tk parts frm each t make a new set f wheels fr the by.”(该镇前警察局长看到了这一消息,并捐赠了两辆二手自行车。
根据第一段关键句“Over the past five years, Mick has built hundreds f bicycles fr needy kids.”(在过去的五年里,米克为贫困儿童建造了数百辆自行车。)和倒数第二段关键句“S far, the bike man has repaired hundreds f cycles and given away nearly 700 newly cnstructed bikes.”(到目前为止,这位自行车男人已经修理了数百辆自行车,并赠送了近700辆新建造的自行车。)
That feeling f pressure is a bilgical respnse, and under the right circumstances can be a great surce f mtivatin.”(压力是自然的。

10.答案:A
根据最后一段关键句“S what can we d t fight the stress? Dr. Michael Msley recmmends exercise, gardening, mindfulness r ther activities yu enjy. But his strngest recmmendatin is trying t get a gdnight’s sleep.”(那么,我们能做些什么来应对压力呢? 故选A项。
通读全文,结合倒数第二段关键句“If this happens repeatedly, ver a lng enugh perid, these high-calrie fds can lead t besity.”(如果这种情况在足够长的时间内反复发生,这些高热量食物可能会导致肥胖。) D项“Why stress makes yu fat?”

画线词前面的“We have a few studies nw that actually shw scientifically that sme dgs will respnd when their wner—but nt a stranger—pretends t cry.
根据最后一段中Barbara的话“If we understand the prfund depths f emtins animals can feel, this shuld make us questin the existence f zs and slaughterhuses(屠宰场) arund the wrld, and rethink thse systems.
根据文中的“We have a few studies nw that actually shw scientifically”“They can be ptimistic, pessimistic, r frightened, and respnd t pain just like any mammal wuld”“It des seem all creatures feel emtin”等可知,这些研究人员在谈论动物是否有情感这个问题的时候,非常谨慎、小心地表达意见。故选C。

Therefre, it is imprtant that yu give them the praise that is due fr their effrts. This is mre s in vluntary rganizatins.(志愿组织更是如此。)

③根据空前“ Of curse, with all that I have mentined abve, be sure that it’s cming frm yur heart.(当然,在我上面提到的所有事情中,请确保它是发自内心的。)”此处讲的是对于别人的表扬要真诚,根据空后“Dn’t praise if yu dn’t have a hint f appreciatin fr the persn.(如果你对这个人没有一点感激之情,就不要去赞美。)” S yu need t be sincere in praise.(所以你需要真诚的赞美。) 故选A项。
④根据空前“Besides, praising in public is rather imprtant.(此外,在公共场合进行表扬是相当重要的。)”可知当众表扬很重要,根据空后“When yu praise a partner in public, yu lift him up and his cnduct fr everyne in the rm t see. Lk fr pprtunities where yu can publicly celebrate the hard wrk f certain peple and make them feel they are great.(当你在公共场合表扬一个合作伙伴时,你是在把他和他的行为提升到房间里的每个人面前。 It is much mre effective than praise in private.(这比私下里的表扬有效得多。)”
⑤根据空前“ I believe that as yu begin using these cmmunicatin tips and praising peple arund yu, yu’ll see a change in the atmsphere f yur wrk envirnment.(我相信,当你开始使用这些沟通技巧和表扬你周围的人时,你会发现你的工作环境发生了变化。)” Peple will becme happier and smile mre.(人们会变得更快乐,笑得更多。)”
