    Paul and I were n ur schl basketball team, The Lins.保罗和我是学校篮球队狮子队的队员。 We lved basketball and were bth huge fans f the NBA.我们热爱篮球,都是NBA的铁杆球迷。
    When we weren't playing n the curt which was next t ur building, we were watching a game n TV. My favurite player was LeBrn James. 当我们不在大楼旁边的球场上比赛时,我们在电视上看比赛。我最喜欢的球员是勒布朗·詹姆斯。
    Paul's favurite player was Tyrne Bgues, a guy wh played fr the Charltte Hrnets, althugh we actually agree that they are bth champins.保罗最喜欢的球员是曾效力于夏洛特黄蜂队的蒂隆·博格,尽管我们实际上同意他们都是冠军。
    Bgues was nly 1.6 metres tall, which made him the shrtest player ever in the NBA, Guess what?博格斯只有1.6米高,这使他成为NBA有史以来最矮的球员,你猜怎么着?
    Paul was nly 1.6 metres tall, t! Paul knew that being shrter than ther players meant that he had t practise mre. 保罗也只有一米六高!保罗知道比其他球员矮意味着他必须多练习。

    Our cach was nt s sure. Paul had t try ut many times just fr making the team. He was still usually n the bench, being just a replacement, which was really tugh n him.我们的教练不太确定。保罗为了进入球队不得不多次试训。他通常仍然坐在替补席上,只是一个替补,这对他来说真的很艰难。

    Suddenly, a player and I crashed int each ther. Pain raced thrugh my bdy. My knee hurt badly. The team gathered arund, lking wrried. 突然,我和一个球员撞到了一起。疼痛在我全身蔓延。我的膝盖很疼。队伍围了过来,看起来很棘手。
    The last quarter was abut t begin, and my team was behind by 10 pints. 最后一节就要开始了,我的球队落后了10分。
    “I dn't think I can play anymre, cach," I said quietly as the dctr put an ice pack n my knee.“我觉得我不能再打球了,教练,”当医生在我膝盖上敷上冰袋时,我轻声说道。
    “N way," the cach replied sharply. "We've gt n mre players! “不行,”教练尖锐地回答“我们没有更多的球员了!”"What abut Paul?" smene suggested“保罗呢?”有人建议道
    “Paul?" said the cach.“ He can't play!““保罗?”教练说,“他不会打球!”“Give him a sht, cach!“ I said. "What have we gt t lse?““给他机会,教练!”我说。“我们会失去什么?”
    "That's right," anther player said. "We're lsing anyway, Let Paul play!”“没错,”另一名球员说。“不管怎样,我们都输了,让保罗上场吧!”“Let me try, cach! I wn't let yu dwn!" Paul said.“让我试试,教练!我不会让你失望的!”保罗说。
    "OK, Ok!" the cach finally agreed, “Dn't let us dwn, Paul. It's yur time t shine.“好的,好的!”教练最后同意了,“别让我们失望,保罗。现在是你发光的时候了。”。
    Paul jumped up and rushed nt the curt. And clearly, all the extra hurs that he'd spent practising alne paid ff. 保罗跳起来冲向球场。很明显,他独自练习的所有额外时间都得到了回报。
    The ther team just culdn't keep up with his energy and speed. He made sht after sht, and the crwd culdn't stp clapping and cheering.另一支球队就是跟不上他的精力和速度。他投进了一个又一个球,观众们情不自禁地鼓掌欢呼。
