Multiple actins have been taken t fight fd waste, but ne yung man is making a big difference with technlgy. Liu Jichen, a student frm Tsinghua University, has develped a WeChat mini-prgram called “Clear Yur Plate”.
After a meal, users can pen the mini-prgram and take a picture f their empty plates. Once the image is recgnized by the AI, students can cllect pints and use them t buy gifts r purchase charity meals dnated t children in pr areas.
The idea came frm Liu’s experience in a canteen where he fund that diners finishing their fd culd get a card and then small gifts with a certain number f cards cllected.
