The clrs are typically a bright blue r green--- this is because clrs that have shrter wavelengths such as blue and green travel easily thrugh the water.
In the waters ff the cast f New Zealand planktn(浮游生物) prduces nen-blue when it senses the presence f smaller fish that eat it. Its light causes the waves t shine, the water t flash, and the fish t swim away as they swim thrugh the cean.
It is imprtant t research befre visiting as biluminescence is nt guaranteed. The animals have a built-in sense f time that allws them t nly shine in darkness. A study, which was published in the magazine Cgnitive Research: Principles and Implicatins, fund that wmen may cnsider men wearing face masks as mre attractive. The researchers find that nt nly d cverings change peple's attractiveness but the type f cvering plays a rle as well.
Dr. Michael Lewis, a prfessr at Cardiff University’s Schl f Psychlgy, said,“Research carried ut befre the pandemic fund that medical face masks reduce attractiveness — s we wanted t test whether this had changed since face cverings became mnipresent during the spread f COVID-19 and understand whether the type f mask had any effect.”
“Our study suggests that faces are cnsidered mst attractive when cvered with medical face masks. This may be because we're used t healthcare wrkers wearing blue masks and nw we assciate these with peple in caring r medical prfessins,”Lewis explained.“At a time when we feel insecure, we may find the wearing f medical masks reassuring(使人安心的) and s feel mre psitive twards the wearer.”
The study als suggested that peple's faces were thught f as dramatically mre attractive when cvered with masks cmpared with being uncvered.“ Sme f this effect may be a result f being able t hide undesirable features in the lwer part f the face --- but this effect was present fr bth less attractive and mre attractive peple,” Lewis said. The team cnducted the study by asking 43 wmen t rank the attractiveness f images f men's faces withut a mask, wearing a clth mask, wearing a blue medical mask, and hlding a black bk cvering the area a face mask wuld hide.
The participants said thse wearing a clth mask were mre attractive than the nes with n masks r whse faces were partly cvered by the bk. But the surgical mask--- which was just a nrmal kind----made the wearer lk even better.
“The results are ppsite f the pre-pandemic research where it was thught masks made peple think abut disease and the persns shuld be avid," said Lewis. “ The pandemic has changed ur mind in hw we treat the wearers f masks.
