PEP3 Unit 6 Meet my family!Period 1Good morning, dear judges and teachers .I am No..... It's my great honor to present my teaching design with all of you. This lessen is from pep book3, unit6, Meet my family! part A let's talk and let's learn. I designed the lesson according to the English curriculum standard. and I also use U B D design principle and the big idea theory. I'm going to introduce my teaching plan through these aspects.The first one ,Teaching material. Unit 6 meet my family is belong to the Thematic context Man & society. and the topic is family and jobs. The meaning is that establish correct family values to make my family more harmonious. This unit is related to PEP Book 2 Unit 2 My family and Book 7 Unit 5 What does he do. So it is very important.Based on the unit overall design principle,So I designed the following objectives of this unit and the learning outcome is establish a correct family values to make my family more harmonious. I divided unit into five lessons. The topic of the first one is Introduce my family and the topic of number 2 is Introduce my family’s jobs. The topic of number 3 is Care for my family and The topic of number 4 is Show my family.And this lesson is the first period of the unit. In PEP Book 2 Unit 2 My family students have already learned some words of family members. And in this lesson they're going to learn how to introduce the family and it makes a very important foundation for the next lesson. The content of this lesson is the key words of family members. And the sentence structures is How many people are there in your family? My family has ...people. The function is to talk about family members or introduce your family.Now Let’s talk about students. The grade 4 students have good learning habits. They have learnt English for more than 1 year so far. They are familiar with the topic of family and have already known some words of family members to introduce their family simply. But they're don’t establish a correct family values.Now let's come to my Teaching objectives. As to keep the main task and to cultivate students’ core competence, I set the objectives as these experts. And among them, number two is the teaching focus and number three is teaching difficulty.The next one is Teaching methods. In order to achieve the objectives , the following teaching methods are used: cooperative learning method, Communicative teaching method and Skeleton teaching method. Now I will talk about my Teaching procedures. The teaching procedures consists of 4 main Steps:Step 1is Warm up and lead in. Step2 is presentation then Step3 is practice and Step4 is transfer learning.Step 1 Lead in. Firstly, I let the students to sing a song together and ask “What’s the song about?” Secondly, Free talk. I present a picture and asked “How many people in my family?” These can help students to lead to the topic of this lesson and catch Ss' attention. Step 2 presentation. I present a picture and asked students “Who are they? And guess what are they talking about?” Which can help them predict the content of this passage and cultivate the ability of getting information. Next part is Listen and answer. Before listening, I gave them two questions. “Let’s listen to the tape and find out1.Then How many people are there in Chen Jie’s family?2.And How many people are there in Amy’s family?” After students answer these two questions, I wrote down the keyword “parents” and the sentence “How many people are there in your family?My family has 6 people.” on the blackboard to teach these new knowledge. When listening to the tape second time. I asked “Who are they in Amy’s family?” Then I showed a form and let students listen and fill in the form, which help them to know more detailed information about Chen Jie and Amy's family. So you see, it's a good way to practice their reading skills such as skimming and scanning for information. Then Listen the tape the third time I asked “Who’s the sixth member? ” After they answered, I showed them a video about pet to distinguish dog and puppy and show the different cultures between China and the western countries. After then, I present Amy’s family photos and asked students“ now read after the tape and fill in the blank to find out who else in Amy’s family?” I wrote down their answers on the blackboard to teach the new words of other family members “uncle,aunt and cousin”. Then students can automatically learn the meaning of pictures. I think emotional education is very important. So I asked students “ How many people are there in Amy’s family? and What do you think of Amy’s family?” After students answerd, I made them realize Amy has a bid family, warm family. Then I showed more pictures about Chinese big family which to help them to care about and love family , love country. In order to improve students reading ability, I let them to listen and imitate. “Let’s now read after the tape sentence by sentence by focusing on stress, pronunciation and intonation.” And then students do a role play in group. It cultivates the ability of reading and cooperation and it makes great foundation for the language output. Then I present the new words and the dialogue together and asked students: “Can you retell the passage?” In this way, it’s not only to consolidate the new words but also cultivate the ability of summaryThe last step is transfer learning. I showed a video as an example and lets the students a picture. “ Can you draw your finger family and Share it?” This can cultivate students’ ability of brave and confidence.As to summary, I invited a student to the little teacher to summarize and What have we learned today? With the help of the blackboard design. Other ss can read after her.According to the homework direct guideline, I designed this homework which connects to life experience. 1. Read and imitate. 2.Draw a family tree. 3.Do a survey. No.3 is choose to do. These homework has different levels ,which is more suitable for different ss, development. The blackboard is like this. The family tree shows the key structure and information clearly. And the reflection after this lesson. Students not only learn to introduce their family members but also develop their thinking skills and study skills. And at last, it helps them to establish the correct family values to enjoy their life.I think Teaching games design can be more interesting. It can get students more involved.
