1教学目标
一、知识目标:
1. 学会词汇:rainstorm; alarm; go off
2.学会句型:--What were you/was he/she doing when the rainstorm came?

3.学会用一般过去时态和过去进行时态讲故事。
二、能力目标:
1.培养学生通过听力获取信息,并连贯成小故事的能力。
2.培养学生运用所学句型描述图片、编对话、讲故事。
3.培养学生大胆说英语,绘声绘色讲英语小故事,甚至表演英语小故事的能力。
三、情感目标:
1.培养学生学习英语的兴趣,对英语课堂参与的热情。
2.引导学生乐于帮助他人,尤其是在危难时刻。
2学情分析
初二的学生已经有一定的英语基础,对英语学习的兴趣和热情正处于上升期,也正处于知识方面较丰富但准确度欠缺,学生之间水平参差不齐的阶段。根据本班学生热爱表达,喜欢表演的特色,采用听故事,复述故事,用自己的方式讲故事等形式,集体学习,小组学习,互相学习。使所有学生都在课堂上有任务动起来,参与课堂,参与活动,让大部分学生都能有回答问题或表演的机会,人人都得到锻炼和提高。

教学活动
活动1【导入】Greeting and lead-in
Step1: Warming up and lead in:
T:Class begins. Good morning, everyone.
Ss: Good morning, Penny.
T:My dear class,we have learnt a lot of interesting things in English class. I know you guys love stories
so much,right?
Ss:Yes!
T:As we all know, when we listen to a story, we must pay attention to ......
T&Ss: The people"who"; the time" when"; the place"where" and" what" .
T:So today, let's enjoy a story first. And of course, after the story, there will be some questions waiting
for you. Are you ready?
Ss:Yes.
T: My Sunday......
(tell a short story with some pictures and music. )

活动2【讲授】Presentation
Step2:Ask and answer 4 questions about the story and read together.
Students can get to know the sentence pattern"What were they doing...?" in this way.
活动3【活动】Listening
Step3:Listen to the TV report in 1b.
Students can get familiar to the sentence pattern"What was he/she doing when the rainstorm
came?" "He/She was ...".
And they can put the phrases in 1b into the sentence pattern and make conversations.
活动4【活动】Listening and Retelling
Step4:Listen to the story in 2a and put the pictures in right order.
Listen to the story again and fill in the blanks in 2b.
Step5:Divide the story into 5 parts and try to retell the story picture by picture.
Step6:Pratice retelling in groups and give a show in front of the class group by group.
活动5【活动】Tell a story
Step7: Try to use what they learnt to tell a story according to 4 pictures.
Step8: Change the story.
活动6【练习】Summary and Exercises
Step9: Give a summary about how to use the past progressive tense.
Step10: Finish some blank fillings.
