Helen Keller was brn in 1880 in the US, and died in 1968.
When she was ne and a half years ld, she fell ill.
She became deaf and blind. She culd nt speak.
When Helen was seven, Anne Sullivan became her teacher.
Anne taught her t spell wrds, but she culd nt understand them.
One day, Anne put Helen’s left hand under the running water, and spelled “W-A-T-E-R” int her right hand.
This wrked like magic. Helen understd. The thing which was running dwn her hand was “water”.
Frm then n, Helen learned t read and write. She learned t speak a little when she was ten years ld.
She wrte mre than ten bks. The Stry f My Life was ne f them.
Later in her life, Helen travelled all ver the wrld t give talks.
She als cllected mney and helped blind and deaf peple.
