When we seem to have finally obtained things we’ve worked hard for, most of us tend to think that we can relax and enjoy life. 31 , life has some rude awakenings for us.
This was the 32 for Stevie. He worked hard and years later, he was able to buy a really nice home on a cliff 33 the ocean. It seemed that all his work 34 and that he had finally realized his dream.
Well, as life would have it, along came the events over which he had no control. Above all, the 35 started to erode (风化) badly from the 36 winds and rains over the years. What was once a one-hundred-foot backyard was rapidly 37 week by week, and to make matters even 38 , he became badly ill to the point where he had to take lots of time off from work.
Then the most 39 things happened. The backyard totally disappeared and what was 40 was the back of the house sitting dangerously on the edge of the cliff. What was even more 41 was that he had no house insurance because the family could not get any from insurance companies who knew of the 42 . No insurance, and so sick that he couldn’t work—now what? A person who thought he had finally reached the 43 and now only to find almost everything had 44 through no fault of his own.
The good news was that he wasn’t done—friends, neighbors and even those who didn’t know him 45 responded to fund-raisers to help him start over.
Life has a way of turning around and 46 us from behind and even kicking again when we are really down. But life also gives us a way 47 if we don’t give up. There is 48 and comfort as well as—an opportunity to start again if we have a 49 to move forward. Keep focused on new life and move beyond all those things that may 50 us to the present.

Bingley, a Sayre School student from America, decided that he would devote himself to studying the environment to have a broad influence on the community.
To reduce the carbon footprint, Bingley planned to 81 enough solar energy to power the school’s science labs. Now his plan is set to happen. To fix 30 solar panels is 82 for late November.
As he began his research 83 solar energy, he discovered a useful phone app. By entering an address, he could find out how much sunlight the 84 receives each day. Based on the data, he found that his school building was the best position. At the suggestion of his science teacher, Debbie Wheeler, he first performed an energy 85 of the science lab to see how much energy a typical lab uses per day. Then, he started his research, 86 a local company of solar panels to do the job. He lacked money for starting the project, so he 87 Sayre’s head to support him after explaining the 88 of solar power for the school and community.
Since Sayre provided the 89 seed money to provide infrastructure and the purchase of one panel, the project has 90 to include a total of 30 panels. They are expected to produce enough energy to 91 all the science labs on campus.
“It feels like a dream to think that an idea I had from my AP Environmental class would have this kind of 92 ,” said Bingley, expressing gratitude for Wheeler’s help. Wheeler said the success was due to Bingley’s efforts and 93 to follow through on the project from start to finish. “I’ve had other students talk about 94 initiatives (倡议) on campus, but Bingley had the persistence and courage to make it happen,” she said.
Bingley said that he would 95 like to study environmental engineering at university.

I wrote a letter to my kids a few years ago. It’s three pages long, and it sums up what I’ve learned in four 96 of life. My kids are too 97 to understand now, but by the time they reach 98 , they will have heard most of the advice in that letter: Live in the moment, do not 99 yourself to physical things and follow your dreams, etc.
I sealed the letter in a plain white envelope and wrote 100 not to open it unless something horrible happened to me. As a police officer, I’ve seen life put to an end or irrevocably (不可逆地) 101 in an instant. I realized that could happen to me at 102 time. If something does happen to me, my children will get that 103 . In it, they will read about my love for them and about the advice that I want to 104 on to them.
Every day, when I open my locker, I see the letter. It 105 me to be careful at work, and to show my children and the people I come into contact with that I 106 understand and practice everything I’ve written. If that day comes and my children 107 read the letter, I hope that because of my actions, they will take my written beliefs to heart and improve upon my 108 .
But for me, it’s not enough to write down my beliefs. I try to be the 109 person I can be every day—even in very difficult circumstances, even with 110 people. I also get depressed, or 111 my kids occasionally, and sometimes I’m not as 112 or as considerate as I should be. In fact, I am 113 perfect, but I hope my children will eventually realize that 114 is an illusion (错觉、幻觉). What really matters is that, instead of just writing about our beliefs, we all take 115 to be the best humans we can be.

Instead of 135 themselves to sadness, they felt determined to keep active. Also, knowing people with Parkinson’s tend to be 136 to get on a bike and live in loneliness, they wanted to convey this 137 during their ride: Believe in yourself and you are more 138 than you think.
“If you feel muscle weakness, add pedal-assist to the ride. If cycling doesn’t 139 you, there are so many other activities. The 140 line is that you must get moving and do an activity, despite your fears and the voice inside your head 141 ‘I can’t’,” said Iseman.
On August 2, the riders were over halfway through their three-month ride. They are being 142 by local news stations and podeasters along the way, 143 to get the word out and to raise money for research. “The rewards of riding are 144 , being great for mind, body, and mood.
