14-year-old Quan Hongchan has won a gold medal for China at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.She’s made history in the women’s 10-meter platform diving event.
Quan was born in the city of Zhanjiang in south China’s Guangdong Province in 2007. She started diving at the age of seven. In 2018, she joined the Guangdong Diving Team, spending three years there before breaking into the national team at the end of 2020.
