    v. 推断;料想;猜测 suppse后可加that引导的从句,从句中that可以省略。 I suppse (that) she is abut thirty. 我猜她大概三十岁。 当suppse + that 引导的宾从变为否定句时,否定应前移,有此种用法的词有think, believe, guess(猜想)等。 I suppse that she will cme t yur party.→ I dn't suppse that she will cme t yur party. 我猜她不会来参加你的晚会。
    be suppsed t d sth. … 其中t是动词不定式符号,不是介词,其后要跟动词原形。 (1)当be suppsed t... 的主语是“人” 时,意为“应该…”“被期望…”,它可以用来表示劝告、建议、义务、责任等,相当于情态动词shuld。 Yu are suppsed t shake hands when yu meet fr the first time. 当你们第一次见面的时候,你们应该握手。
    (2)当be suppsed t... 的主语是“物”时,它表示“本应;本该”,用于表示“某事本应该发生而没有发生”。 The new laws are suppsed t prevent crime. 这些新法令本应该起到防止犯罪的作用。 The train was suppsed t arrive half an hur ag. 火车本应在半小时之前到达。
    (3)be suppsed t后面接“have + 过去分词”时,表示“本应该做某事而没做”。 Yu are suppsed t have handed in yur hmewrk by nw.现在你应该已经把作业交上来了。 He is suppsed t have arrived an hur ag. 他应该一小时前就到了。
    (4)be suppsed t... 的否定结构为be nt suppsed t...,它常用于口语中,意为“不被许可;不应当”。 She was nt suppsed t be angry abut that. 她本不该为那件事而生气的。 Yu are nt suppsed t smke n the bus. 你不应该在公共汽车上吸烟。
    在表示同意或不同意别人的观点时,常用“I suppse s/ I dn't suppse s”。 - Will he be back this weekend? 他周末会回来吗? - Yes, I suppse s.我想他会回来。
    3、suppse +名词 / 代词 + t be...,表示“认为……是……”。 Many peple suppse him t be ver 50. 许多人认为他已经50多岁了。4、suppse用于祈使句中,表示“让……”。 Suppse we g fr a swim. (= Let's g fr a swim.) 让我们去游泳吧。

    定语 :在句中修饰名词或代词的成分.

    句子作定语,修饰girl, 叫做定语从句
    定语从句是指在复合句中作定语的从句,定语从句所修饰的词叫先行词。定语从句通常放在先行词的后面,由关系代词(that, which, wh, whm和whse)或关系副词(where, when, why等)引导。
    句子结构:主句(先行词)+ (关系词)定语从句

    关系代词that、which、wh(whm)
    先行词非人:that which
    先行词是人:that wh(whm)

    1、用that而不用which的情况❶先行词既有人又有物 The writer and his nvel that yu have just talked abut is really well knwn.❷主句是which或wh开头的特殊疑问句 Which f the bks that had pictures was wrth reading?❸先行词是序数词或最高级(或前面有序数词/最高级修饰时)When they talked abut Wuxi, the first that came int my mind is Tai Lake.
    ❹先行词有every,each,n,sme,the nly,the very,the last,the same,nly, any, few, little, n, just, very, ne f等词修饰Yu can keep any bks that yu find. ❺先行词是all,much,few,little,any,nne,the ne(共同点:有“唯一”或“全部”的概念,以致不可选择),smething,everything,anything,nthing等不定代词或被这些词修饰时Tell me everything that yu knw.
    ❻先行词在主句中作表语,且关系代词在从句中也做表语Our schl is n lnger the place that it used t be. 如果有两个从句,其中一个关系代词已用which ,另一个关系代词宜用that,以避免语言的单调或重复。 Ben built up a factry which prduced things that had never been seen befre. 主句是There be 结构,修饰其主句的定语从句宜用that 作关系代词。 There is still a seat in the crner that is still free.
    2、用which而不用that的情况❶非限制性定语从句This brunch f carnatin, which is wund by silk ribbn ,is the first gift t my mm.这束康乃馨是送给妈妈的第一份礼物,它被丝带所缠绕。These bks, which yu can get at any crner f the twn, will give yu all the infrmatin.这本书你可以在镇里的各个角落获取得到,它会给你所有的信息。
    ❷关系代词前有介词时一般用whichThse days in which yu culd travel withut a passprt has gne.那些你不用带护照可以旅行的日子一去不复返了。That’s the mtel at which we stayed several years ag.那是我们许多年以前停留的汽车旅馆。❸先行词为that或thseWhat's that which flashed in the sky just nw?
    ❹限制性定语从句中,若有两个定语从句,一句用that,另一句宜用whichLet me shw yu the nvel that I brrwed frm the library which was newly pen.
    3、用wh而不用that的情况❶先行词为指人的不定代词,如ne,nes,anyne,n ne,nbdy,anybdy,nne,allAnyne wh breaks the law shuld be punished.She is the nly ne f the students wh has been t the USA.❷there be结构中先行词指人There is a cmrade utside wh wants t see yu.
    ❸当定语从句中又有定语从句,且先行项都为人时The student that wn the first prize is the mnitr wh wrks hard.❹当指人的先行项被一些指物的名词修饰时There 's nly ne student in the schl wh I want t see.D yu knw the wman in blue with a baby n her back wh is wrking in the fields?
    "介词+关系代词"可以引导限制性定语从句,也可以引导非限制性定语从句。"介词+关系代词"结构中的介词可以是 in, n, abut, frm, fr, with, t at, f, withut 等,关系代词只可用whm或 which,不可用 that 。 例:Is that the huse in which yu live ?像listen t, lk at, take care f等固定短语动词,在定语从句中一般不宜将介词与动词分开。 例:This is the by whm she has taken care f.
    关系代词在定语从句中作主语时,定语从句的谓语动词应和先行词的人称和数保持一致。This is ne f the bks which were written by Mark Twain.这是马克吐温所写的书中的一本。(先行词是bks,因此动词应用were。)
    “ne f the +复数名词”时,复数名词是先行词,所以谓语动词常用复数形式。如果“ne f the +复数名词”前面有the very /nly等修饰语,则谓语动词用单数形式,因为先行词是,而不是复数名词。 He is the nly ne f the students wh speaks Japanese in ur class. 他是我们班唯一说日语的学生。(the nly ne是先行词) He is ne f the students wh speak Japanese in ur class. 他是我们班里说日语的学生之一。(students是先行词)
