1. 日期表达法：

on+the+序数词+of+月份

on the eleventh of May 在五月十一日

on the eighth of April 在四月八日

2. 序数词：

①记忆口诀：

基变续，有规律，词尾加上th;

一二三，特殊记，词尾字母t,d,d (first, second, third);

八减t(eighth), 九去e (ninth)，f来把ve替(five---fifth, twelve---twelfth);

单词ty作结尾，ty变成tie(twenty---twentieth);

若是碰到几十几，只变个位就可以(twenty-one----twenty-first).

序数词表顺序，一般需用定冠词。

②序数词的用法

1）一般在前面加上the，但当序数词前面有物主代词等修饰时，不加the。

December is the twelfth month of the year. 十二月是一年中的最后一个月。

It’s her ninth birthday today. 今天是她九岁的生日。

2）序数词前可以加上不定冠词a或者an， 用来表示“再一；又一”。

I can have a third try. 我可以再试一试。

Birthday traditions are different around the world. In the US children often celebrate a birthday with a party. They give presents and have a taste of cake and ice cream.

Children in Korea celebrate in a different way. They eat seaweed(海带)soup and rice cakes. Koreans serve seaweed soup because it is healthy. Guests to the birthday party may be dressed in traditional clothes called hanbok（传统韩服）.

At a birthday party in Canada, children look for a coin in the cake. When the children play party games, the child who finds the coin goes first.

It's said that Germans are the first people to have birthday parties for children by their parents. Parents place a wooden birthday wreath(花环)with candles on the table. They light a tall candle in the middle, the "life" candle, every year until their child becomes 12 years old.
