Every athlete made great efforts to win, the students who stood by the runway let out the most encouraging slogan. After seeing what had happened, Sam felt that it was time for him to put the skills of planting trees he had learned to use. He went home and told his mom he wanted to save those trees. So he took the tools that he had used to plant the trees. With the skills taught by his teacher, he worked with his mom to replant those trees. They helped the trees survive. The neighbours praised Sam for what he had done. Sam told them about his experience of planting trees. But he owed all the kindnesses to his teacher and mother. He explained that because of his teacher and mother, he learned the skills and saved the trees. The neighbours were very happy to hear that. They said Sam was a role model and that they would ask their children to learn the skills from Sam. Sam felt proud and decided to develop a better community and protect the environment with them. 根据Painted Desert, Petrified Forest National Park, AZ中的“This is free camping, wild camping. 根据Watchman Campground, Zion National Park, UT中的“Note, however, that this campground is extremely popular. Reservations are absolutely recommended from March through November. 根据文章标题“Best Campgrounds in U.S. 故选A。 根据第二段中“How can he make them stand firm? He begins by balancing four cards to form a box with arms sticking out, which forms a grid. Then he repeats the grid over and over, expanding outward, to build a solid base. After that, Bryan lays cards around the edge and then across the top to make the floor for the next story of the building.(他怎能使他们站立得住呢? 根据第三段中“Interestingly enough, Bryan did not get the idea from any of the physical books. Instead, he discovered the unique way to build solid structures using a trick from nature. The secret is plant cells. Plant cells have hard walls and fit together tightly to form a grid that helps leaves and stems to keep their shape. Bees use the same kind of pattern to create honeycombs. Bryan borrowed this idea to invent repeating grids of card cells.(有趣的是,布莱恩并没有从任何一本实体书中得到这个想法。 故选A项。26. 根据第四段中“Out of curiosity, people who come to see the card buildings sometimes push and poke to see if they have clips inside, but find they don’t! Once, when Bryan built a card castle at Disney World, birds kept trying to land on it. A squirrel managed to take down one wall and did plenty of damage inside. But, amazingly, the castle didn’t collapse.(出于好奇,来参观卡牌建筑的人有时会推推搡搡,看看里面是否有夹子,但发现没有! 根据最后一段中“I also learn a lot from taking them apart — the destruction shows me where the weak points are. That is what my next stronger buildings really need.(我也从拆卸它们中学到了很多东西——破坏告诉我弱点在哪里。 根据第一段“It’s something that the American singer Taylor Swift does a good job of making her French sound realistic in front of fans during her tours. “A foreign accent is a piece of cake for the singers.” says Susanne Reiterer, a nurolinguistics researcher at Vienna University. 根据划线词后半句“then you have more power basically in your hearing areas. 根据第二段“ Reiterer’s team found that singers had an advantage over instrumentalists in foreign language imitation, but both singers and instrumentalists outperformed non-musicians.(韦勒的研究小组发现,歌手在模仿外语方面比乐器演奏者更有优势,但歌手和乐器演奏者的表现都优于非音乐家。)”和第三段““Since talking uses the same biological makeup as singing, the two must be related both biologically and neurobiologically. It’s Heschl’s gyrus(颞横回) that works. You can change a lot by training, but something is pre-given as well, “Reiterer adds.” Biology plays a leading role. If you have a strong predisposition musically, then you have more power basically in your hearing areas. You can discriminate sounds better.”(“因为说话和唱歌使用相同的生物组成,所以两者在生物学和神经生物学上都有联系。 故选A。31. 根据第一段“Singers seem to have an inborn talent for foreign tongues—most notably when it comes to pronunciation and accent. 所以“A good singer, a potential language master(好的歌手,潜在的语言大师)”作为文章标题最为合适。 根据第一段“In large population studies, people who eat lots of fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C appear to have a reduced risk for various types of cancer, including cancers of the mouth and lung. But it’s not clear that these benefits come specifically from vitamin C. The Age-Related Eye Disease Study found that a daily supplement containing 500 mg of vitamin C can help slow the progress of macular degeneration, an age-related eye disease that causes vision loss”(在大规模人群研究中,吃大量富含维生素C的水果和蔬菜的人患各种癌症的风险似乎降低了,包括口腔癌和肺癌。 根据第三段“Most of the evidence shows that high-dose vitamin C will, at most, shorten a cold by one day.”(大多数证据表明,大剂量的维生素C最多能使感冒时间缩短一天)可知,维生素C对治疗普通感冒的作用是它最多能减轻一天的感冒。故选C项。34. 根据最后一段“The recommended vitamin C dosage per day for healthy women is 75 mg per day.”(健康女性每天维生素C的推荐剂量是75毫克。) 故选A项。35. 36.根据下文“However, the experience of visiting a museum could be quite disappointing if not done right, even for the experienced museumgoers.(然而,如果做得不对,参观博物馆的经历可能会非常令人失望,即使是对经验丰富的博物馆游客来说也是如此)”可知,这里说的是参观博物馆要合理安排,G项“一般来说,参观博物馆没有对错之分”符合题意,故选择G项。37.根据下文“No matter how much you’re enjoying yourself, many museums can take hours, days, or even weeks to fully explore.(无论你多么享受,许多博物馆都可能需要数小时、数天甚至数周的时间才能完全探索)”可知,这里说的是参观博物馆有时会花费很长时间,会令人疲惫,F项“有时你可能会感叹博物馆的疲惫是真实存在的”符合题意,故选择F项。38.根据上文“Thus, be smart to browse the instructions for visiting and book in advance online.(因此,明智地浏览访问指南并提前在线预订)”可知,这里要说的是,在网上提前预定就可轻松游览,而不用等待,D项“这样你就可以轻松访问”符合题意,故选择D项。39.根据上文“What if you don’t like some museums? Then don’t visit them! I’m not a massive fan of parks, so I would hardly ever end up in any park while travelling.(如果你不喜欢一些博物馆怎么办? 40.根据上文“We’ve all witnessed that guy being yelled at by the security for touching or taking flash photos.(我们都目睹过某个家伙因为触摸或拍闪光灯照片而被保安大喊大叫)”可知,作者想要劝大家不要做不礼貌的事情,C项“如果你没有这样,就不要让它成为你”符合题意,故选择C项。 根据后文“because any of our guests can take any book from it and 42 any book to it”可知,此处指“共享(图书)财宝”。故选A项。42. A. lend借出;B. read阅读;C. rent租用;D. contribute贡献,捐献。根据语境和前文“any of our guests can take any book from it”及后文“But no one 43 where the books come or go”可知,客人也可以将任何一本贡献出来。故选D项。43. A. replies回答;B. tracks追踪;C. guesses猜测;D. minds介意。根据语境和后文“It’s all based on trust”可知,没有人追查这些书的来历和去向。故选B项。44. 根据后文“from Jack Canfield’s Chicken Soup For the Soul”可知,这些书都是鼓舞人心的。故选A项。45. A. ignore忽视;B. limit限制;C. predict预测;D. doubt怀疑。根据前文“But no one 43 where the books come or go”可知,作者无法预测会发现什么书籍。故选C项。46. 根据前文“I can’t really 45 what I’ll find on a particular day”可知,作者是偶然发现的这本书。故选B项。47. A. turned up出现;B. ended up结束;C. stood out突出;D. took place发生。根据后文“because it had special little white hearts on it and no title”可知,这本书很突出,引人入目。故选C项。48. A. correct正确;B. blank空白的;C. random随机的;D. familiar熟悉的。根据前文“It 47 because it had special little white hearts on it and no title”可知,作者第一次见到这本书,是随便翻开一页。故选C项。49. 故选A项。50. A. accept接受;B. explore探索;C. choose选择;D. reflect反应。根据语境和后文“every page had a hand-written quote by DJ’s grandparents”可知,作者迫不及待地想要探索里面内容。故选B项。51. A.
