Jhn Mntefire's path t graduatin frm the University f Trnt was a little unusual. He recently cmpleted his bachelr's degree(学士学位) which he started in1995.

Rsati and her clleagues used 78,000 hurs f bservatins made ver 20 years frm the Kibale Chimpanzee Prject in Uganda. The data lked at the scial interactins f 21 male chimps between 15 and 58 years ld. The researchers nly studied male chimps because they shw strnger scial bnds and have mre scial interactins than female chimps.
Researchers fund that wild chimpanzees share a similar pattern f scial aging with humans. Rsati says, “They prefer strng, mutual scial bnds and interact with thers in mre psitive ways as they get lder.” The lder chimpanzees preferred spending mre time with chimps that they had becme friends with ver the years. They wuld sit clse t these lng-time cmpanins and grm (梳毛) each ther. By cntrast, yunger chimps had mre ne-sided relatinships where they wuld grm a friend, but the actin wasn’t returned.
Older male chimps were als mre likely t spend mre time alne. The researchers said that they shwed a shift frm negative interactins t mre psitive nes, preferring t spend their later years in nncnfrntatinal (非对抗性的), psitive relatinships. Researchers call the preference a “psitivity bias”.

Researchers lng believed that this aging attractin tward meaningful relatinships was unique t humans, but a new study finds that chimps (大猩猩) als have similar tendencies.
Rsati and her clleagues used 78,000 hurs f bservatins made ver 20 years frm the Kibale Chimpanzee Prject in Uganda. The data lked at the scial interactins f 21 male chimps between 15 and 58 years ld. The researchers nly studied male chimps because they shw strnger scial bnds and have mre scial interactins than female chimps.
Researchers fund that wild chimpanzees share a similar pattern f scial aging with humans. Rsati says, “They prefer strng, mutual scial bnds and interact with thers in mre psitive ways as they get lder.” The lder chimpanzees preferred spending mre time with chimps that they had becme friends with ver the years. They wuld sit clse t these lng-time cmpanins and grm (梳毛) each ther. By cntrast, yunger chimps had mre ne-sided relatinships where they wuld grm a friend, but the actin wasn’t returned.
