With the 60th anniversary of Learn from Lei Feng Day approaching, March 1st witnessed a magnificent social practice organized by our school. Students visited a nearby nursing home, where joint efforts were made to serve the elders’ needs.

Students commenced their work immediately after they got there at 8 am. Sweat intertwined with laughter, some did the cleaning with mops and brooms, some helped with the laundry, and others assisted in growing flowers. Aside from doing chores, keeping the elders company to ease their boredom and anxiety was also involved. By noon, all the work had been finished, crowned with the sparkles in everyone’s smiling eyes.

A student who had successfully taught three elders to use smartphone applications said never had she felt so fulfilled before. Another student expressed his anticipation of next Learn from Lei Feng Day, adding that to carry on the spirits of Lei Feng helped construct a harmonious society.
