第四部分 写作 (共两节,满分40分)
第一节 (满分15分)
The cycling activity organized by our school yesterday was fantastic. Exchange students from the UK and I took part in the cycling activity, whose aim was to encourage us students to take outdoor exercise.
At 8:00 a.m., we gathered at our school gate and set out for the destination, the wetland park about 20 kilometers away from our school. All the way we were singing inspiring songs while enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful scenery. Although some fell behind on the way, they kept going until they reached the destination.
Tired but happy, we benefited a lot from the activity. Not only did it get us close to nature, but it also deepened my friendship with foreign students.
第二节 (满分25分)
The moment I turned round, I found crickets were jumping all over my kitchen. I screamed and jumped up onto a chair to get away from them. I could feel that I was about to start yelling in a way I had rarely done. Then, I realized that I had two choices: I could continue feeling angry, or I could let go. My two sweet boys were running around and screaming with laughter. Watching them capture the crickets, I felt as if time had slowed down, and I saw the situation clearly for the first time. How sweet their smile was!
Finally, I jumped off the chair and started catching crickets with my boys. It took us about fifteen minutes to get all the crickets into their box. Then my boys enthusiastically volunteered to help me prepare the dinner. With joint efforts, we made it in time and had an amazing dinner party. The experience that night is a constant reminder to me that I should never let anger keep me from enjoying life. When things go wrong, I tell myself that everything will be okay, because we do have the power to decide how we’re going to react to them.

Text 1
W: Would you like to go out for a walk with me?
M: Oh, I’d love to, but I haven’t finished my project and it’s already six o’clock.
W: Don’t worry. Your clock is eight minutes fast.
Text 2
W: Bettina and Simon are getting married next month!
M: Really? How do you know? Have you seen them recently?
W: Not for ages. I got Bettina’s call this afternoon.
M: That’s great. I hope we’ll get invitations to the wedding soon.
Text 3
M: Hurry up with your paper, Lily. It is due tomorrow. You’d better get it done today. And we can go climbing tomorrow.
W: Thanks for your reminding. It’s almost done. I am sure we can go together tomorrow.
M: Great. I will prepare some drinks today.
Text 4
W: Excuse me, is the photography exhibition still going on?
M: Sorry, it is closed. But you can get a picture book of the exhibition at our gift shop, which is located on the ground floor, next to the ticket office.
W: Okay. Thank you.
Text 5
M: Pardon me, can you direct me to the train station?
W: Oh, I’m sorry. I don’t know how to get there. I’m traveling in the city, but perhaps you can go to ask the police over there.
M: Thank you all the same.
Text 6
W: What are you up to this afternoon?
M: I’m going to try out for the school musical.
W: Me too! I hope to play the role of a famous actress. What about you?
M: I hope to be in the band.
W: What instrument do you play?
M: Several, actually. My grandfather taught me to play the guzheng when I was little. It’s a traditional Chinese instrument. Then I started violin lessons at primary school, and I took up the guitar a few months ago.
W: Wow! Do you write songs as well?
M: Not really. But I’d like to have a go at it someday!
Text 7
M: Do you like reading, Julie?
W: Yes. I really enjoy the beautiful words and vivid storylines. They always bring me all kinds of inspiration. And you, Mark?
M: Well, I like reading, but I prefer cooking.
W: Wow, that’s amazing. What kinds of dishes do you usually make?
M: I’m good at Japanese and Italian cuisine. And my mother is teaching me how to cook Chinese food.
W: Wow, I’m crazy about Chinese food, but I find it too difficult to make.
M: Actually it just seems difficult. Why not come to my house and learn it with me?
W: Okay, it’s a good idea.
Text 8
M: Hi, I’m Brandon, your new neighbor from downstairs.
W: Hi, I’m Jessica. Nice to meet you!
M: Sorry to bother you, but can I talk to you for a minute?
W: Sure. Is everything all right?
M: I’ve been listening to you play the guitar in my apartment for a while now, and it’s nice to hear that you’re getting better! Unfortunately, I tried to sleep in on weekends. I can’t speak for other neighbors, but it’s perfectly fine during the weekdays, because I’m up at 7:00 a.m. anyway. On weekends, I’d really appreciate it if you can hold off until 9:00 a.m.
W: I’m sorry about that. I didn’t realize it was disturbing you. I’ll postpone practicing the guitar until 10:00 a.m. on weekends.
M: Thanks a lot. Weekends are the only chance I have to catch up on sleep.
W: It’s all good. You don’t need to explain yourself. We appear to be operating on different schedules.
M: That’s true.
W: Have a nice day!
M: Have a nice day, too!
Text 9
M: Would you like me to fill in an application form?
W: Yes, please. If you could return the application form by Friday this week, we can interview you on Tuesday next week. Say half past two. Would that be possible for you?
M: Yes, it’s fine. Your company is quite a long way from where I live, so I will drive over on Monday. Should I bring anything to the interview?
W: We will have your application form, of course, but we will need to see any certificate you’ve got that is relevant, in cycling, first aid or whatever.
M: OK.
W: And at the interview we’d like to find out about your experience of being a tour guide. So could you prepare a ten-minute talk about that, please? You don’t need slides or any complicated equipment — just some notes.
M: All right. I’ll start preparing for that after returning home.
W: Good. We will look forward to receiving your application form and we will contact you to confirm the interview.
