For a long time, people have been burying their garbage. Unfortunately, there is less and less empty land that can be used as garbage places in our planet today, yet more and more garbage is being produced each year.
How should we manage our garbage? Do we have enough energy sources to meet our future energy needs? These are two of the most important questions in the modern world, and many people are trying to find the answers. Some people think that we might be able to solve both problems at the same time. They suggest that garbage should be used as an energy source. For example, some cities in the United States have been burning garbage to create fuel for years. But studies have shown that it is not a good idea. Burning garbage for energy causes many serious problems. Garbage that burns easily, such as plastics and paper, must be separated from metals, glass, and other materials that do not burn easily. This separation process is very costly, therefore not being done in most places. Another huge problem with burning garbage is air pollution.

(2022春·福建南平·高二 期中校考)Every now and then you may hear news of satellites sent into space. On Feb 21, for example, US company SpaceX took 46 satellites into orbit. On Feb 27, China sent 22 satellites into space. Why do we need so many satellites? What do they do for us?
At present, there are more than 3,000 active satellites moving around the Earth, according to Statista, a German company that works on market data. Satellites have all kinds of roles, from transmitting TV signals, giving you directions on the road, to helping scientists with their research.
For example, the 22 satellites China just sent up are part of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. Shared bikes that use BeiDou chips (芯片) can provide more accurate positioning, making them easier to find. Drones (无人机) can also use BeiDou while flying. Before satellites, TV signals didn’t reach very far. Mountains or tall buildings would block the signals. Phone calls to faraway places were also a problem. Setting up telephone wires over long distances is difficult. With satellites, TV signals and phone calls can be sent directly to a satellite and back down to different locations on Earth. SpaceX’s Starlink project is trying to go further. It plans to use satellites to provide people with internet all over the globe.
Satellites can also provide information about clouds, oceans, land and ice. They help scientists predict changes in weather and climate. By monitoring wildfires and volcanoes, satellites help emergency workers deal with natural disasters. Farmers can use satellite images to decide the best time to water their fields. Some satellites fly near other planets. They may look for water on Mars or take close-up pictures of Saturn’s rings (土星环). In 2020, video website Bilibili sent a satellite into space. Its job is to look at other planets and share the pictures and videos with Bilibili’s users.

(2022春·河北石家庄·高二期中联考)The planet’s climate has been changing over thousands of years. The average global temperature today is about 15℃. Scientists are worried that the planet is warming faster than ever before. The 20 warmest years on record have been in the past 22 years, according to the World Meteorological Organization(WMO). If this situation continues, temperatures may rise by 3℃-5℃ by 2100.
Scientists say we should try and stop this and not allow the average global temperature to rise by more than 1.5℃. Even a 2℃ rise will be bad for us all. Now, half a degree doesn’t sound like much, but it could make a big difference to the planet. A 2℃ rise will mean that all the coral reefs(珊瑚礁) will disappear, but a 1.5℃ rise means that there will still be some. Also, 18 percent of the insects on Earth will disappear if the temperature goes up by 2℃, compared to 6 percent disappearing at a 1.5℃ rise. Thirty-seven percent of people will be affected by dangerous heatwaves at a 2℃ rise. That’s twice the number compared to at a 1.5℃ rise.
So, what can we do? Scientists say that carbon(碳) will have to be taken out of the air by machines and stored underground and that these devices already exist. They also say that billions of trees will have to be planted. People should buy less meat. Of all the foods we eat, beef has the biggest effect on climate change because it produces a high amount of greenhouse gases to raise cows. Also, someone suggested not buying new clothes too often, because the fashion industry is a major source of the greenhouse gases that are overheating the planet. And, of course, use transport that doesn’t bur fossil fuels(化石燃料), like electric cars. It’s also better to walk or ride a bike.
32.Why did the author mention the warmest records?
A.To explain the role which the WMO plays. B.To give an example for the global warming.
C.To show the latest information taken from the WMO. D.To express his worries about climate change.
33.What if the average global temperature rises by 2℃?
A.All the coral reefs will not survive. B.About 6 percent of the insects will die.
C.Nearly 40 percent of people will suffer. D.The Earth will be too hot to live on.
34.Which of the following disagrees with the scientists’ advice?
A.Growing green plants. B.Eating more beef.
C.Cutting back on clothing. D.Going to school on foot.
35.What can be the best title for the text?
A.Even Half a Degree Matters B.The Planet’s Climate Is Changing
C.Worries about the Environment D.The Average Global Temperature

根据第一段“The planet’s climate has been changing over thousands of years. The average global temperature today is about 15℃. Scientists are worried that the planet is warming faster than ever before. The 20 warmest years on record have been in the past 22 years, according to the World Meteorological Organization(WMO). If this situation continues, temperatures may rise by 3℃-5℃ by 2100.”(几千年来,地球的气候一直在变化。
根据第二段中的“A 2℃ rise will mean that all the coral reefs(珊瑚礁) will disappear, but a 1.5℃ rise means that there will still be some.”(2℃的上升意味着所有的珊瑚礁都将消失,但是1.5℃的上升意味着会有一些珊瑚礁消失。)
根据最后一段中的“People should buy less meat. Of all the foods we eat, beef has the biggest effect on climate change because it produces a high amount of greenhouse gases to raise cows.”(人们应该少买点肉。

分析句子结构可知,先行词为a place, 定语从句为you can develop relationships with many different people, join clubs, and participate in a variety of different sports.
分析句子成分可知,谓语动词为can make,fill作非谓语,它的逻辑主语是student,短语be filled with表示 “充满”,fill和主语之间为被动关系,故填filled。

根据后面and poor decision making and outcomes中outcomes为复数形式,and连接并列名词issue(问题),为可数名词,所以用复数形式。故填issues。
see的主语it指代的是peer pressure,两者为被动关系,且see在情态动词can后面,用动词原形,故填be seen。
have an effect on/upon对…… 故填on/upon。

(2022春·广东深圳·高二期中统考)Twenty years ago, I drove a taxi. Once, I was called at 3 a.m. to pick someone up. When I arrived, the building was completely dark except for one light in a window. Often, many drivers would just honk ( 按喇叭) once or twice, wait a short minute, then drive away.
But unless a real danger, I always went to the door to find the passenger. It might be someone who needed my assistance. Would I not want a driver to do the same if my mother or father had called for a taxi?
So I walked to the door and knocked. “Just a minute,” answered a weak and elderly voice. I could hear the sound of something being dragged across the floor. After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 80s stood before me. By her side was a small suitcase. “Would you carry my bag out to the car?” she said. “I’d like a few moments alone. Then, if you could come back and help me? I’m not very strong.”
I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman. She took my arm, and we walked slowly toward the cab. She kept thanking me for my kindness. “It’s nothing,” I told her. “I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated.”
“Oh, you’re such a good boy,” she said. When we got in the taxi, she gave me an address. Then she asked, “Could you drive through the downtown?”
“It’s not the shortest way,” I answered. “I don’t mind,” she said, “I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to the nursing home.” I saw her eyes shining with tears. “I don’t have any family left,” she continued. “The doctor says I am too old to live alone.”
I quietly turned off the meter (计程器). “What road do you want me to take?” I asked. “First, take me to Sunrise Street. That’s where I was born.”

We always think there are no great moments in our lives, but great moments are just in what others may think small and unimportant ones!
