一、形容词的作用及位置
说明人或事物的特征、性质或状态，常用来修饰名词或复合不定代词的词叫形容词。
1、作定语
形容词作定语，放在名词之前，复合不定代词之后。There is nthing imprtant in tday’s newspaper.
注意：多个形容词修饰名词时，其顺序为：大形新色国材an expensive Chinese sprts car；her red cttn skirt
2、作表语，放在系动词之后; be, feel, lk, smell, taste, sund, get, becme, keep, turn, seem+adj.
3、作宾语补足语，放在宾语之后，常与make, leave, keep, find等动词连用。
(1)They keep the classrm clean every day. (2)We find it imprtant t learn English well.
4、the+adj.表示一类人，它们作主语时谓语动词常用复数形式,但表示抽象概念时谓动词用单数形式。

二、形容词的比较等级
（一）形容词原级的用法
1、用“as…as”结构，表示比较双方程度相同，意思是“和……一样……”。 He is as tall as his father.
2、表示“不如”或“不相等”，用“nt+as/s…as”结构。This picture is nt s gd as that ne.
3、表示“A是B的……倍”，用“A+is+倍数+as+形容词原级+as+B”结构。（一半half; 一倍nce; 两倍twice; 三倍及以上；基数词+times） Our schl is twice as large as theirs.
4、有表示程度的副词very, s, t, enugh, quite等修饰时用形容词原级。 The film is t bring.
（二）形容词比较级的用法
1、表示两者进行比较时用形容词比较级，为“A+is+形容词比较级+than+B”。（注意：比较的对象要一致）
My bike is mre beautiful than hers. The weather in Beijing is much clder than that in Jiangsu in winter.
2、a little, a bit, a great deal, a lt, much, even, still, far, rather, any+adj.的比较级； even clder
3、表示两者之间进行选择“哪一个更……”时“Which / Wh is +形容词比较级，A r B?”
4、表示“两者之间较……的一个(f the tw)”时，常用“the+比较级”结构。
5、“比较极+and+比较级”结构，多音节词和部分双音节词用“mre and mre+形容词原级” “越来越”。
6、“the+比较级，the+比较级”翻译“越...，越...”。The mre careful yu are, the mre pints yu will get.
（三）形容词最高级的用法
1、表示在三者或三者以上的人或物中进行比较时，用最高级形式。形容词最高级前必须加定冠词the，句末常跟一个in / f短语来表示范围。
2、表示在三者或三者以上的人或物中进行选择时,用“Which / Wh is+the+最高级，A，B r C?”结构。
3、表示“……中最……”时，用“ne f the+形容词最高级+可数名词复数形式”。
4、形容词最高级前面可以加序数词，表示“第几最……”。
5、形容词最高级前面可以用形容词性物主代词/指示代词/名词所有格等修饰, 但此时不能再加定冠词the。
