The day we were there the frest was glrius—all gld, yellw and brwn. We spent the last hur trying t capture a frest scene. Hping nt t embarrass myself t much, I made a real effrt t catch the dark and brighter areas f the trunks, their textures (纹理). A full belly in the mrning wuld slw them dwn in the hunt fr fd and make them easy prey. S they search ut fd when they are lean and light and then dine in the evening t ensure they have a big enugh stre f fat t survive the night.
The “early bird” strategy was revealed in an experiment in which ver 2,000 birds were fitted with tiny radi tags which activated when they landed n feeders hidden in Wytham Wds, near Oxfrd. The feeders were mved arund ver the curse f the day and the researchers nted when the birds landed n them.
“Our results shw these birds display very different patterns f fd discvery in the mrning and afternn; very few new fd surces were fund during the afternn, whereas nearly every new fd surce we put ut during the mrning was quickly discvered.” This revealed that the birds were much better at finding the feeders new lcatins in the mrning. “The phtgraphs f family farmers may tell just a few lcal stries, but the message is universal,” says phtgrapher Cheryl Newman. “I hpe that the images will leave viewers thinking deeply abut where their fd cmes frm and the impact it has n the wrld arund us.”

25.D。 根据第四短内容“Ali thught that spreading the jy f sketching culd be the key t making
peple care abut nature instead f just wrdy reprts.”
根据第五短内容“Mine lked mre like a winter scene—I hadn’t managed t capture the autumn leaves r the branches.”
最后一段作者引用 Rbert Macfarlane 的话, “We will nt save what we d nt lve and we rarely lve what we cannt name r d nt see” 尤其后半句 “我们几乎不会去爱我们叫出名字和看不见的事物。”
28.A。 根据文章倒数第二段最后一句“they waited until the afternn t feast n the wrms.” A stre up 储存; B dispse f 处理,解决; C thrw away 浪费;抛弃。
根据倒数第二段内容 “very few new fd surces were fund during the afternn, whereas nearly every new fd surce we put ut during the mrning was quickly discvered.”
根据文章第一段最后一句和最后一段“The researchers said the cmplex strategy acts as an insurance plicy, ”某种程度上出于安全考虑,鸟儿利用早上体态轻盈觅食而晚上进食,避免成为被猎食者。
根据第一段“T raise awareness f the cntributin f these farmers, a glbal pht exhibitin, We Feed the Wrld, is t pen n Octber 12 in Lndn.”
根据第二段“Industrial agriculture, which mainly fcuses n a few types f crps,” 及第三段“With nly 12 plants and five animal species making up 75 percent f what the wrld eats, fd systems will be easily hurt by natural disasters and disease utbreaks.”
根据第四段“In the future, researchers might need t get particular genes frm ne variety t help anther t adapt t warmer, strmier, r drier weather, r t save a prized variety frm disease.”
根据本段关键信息 “which may mean failing ccasinally, if yu want t maximize learning in the lng run,”可知答案为B。
41.C。 here and there 到处,处处;nw and then 时而,偶尔;back and frth 来来回回地; in and ut 进进出出。
46.C。根据 “g back t my train”和 “t”,不难推断出本空为 returned.
