    Unit Review

     

    设计说明

    首先,利用图片和翻译单词的游戏复习本单元的单词,处理教材中相应的练习题;然后,讲解语法——方位介词和现在进行时,处理教材中相应的练习题。接着是听说练习,练习听力,总结a/ay/ea, i, o, ou/ow的发音,采访一个同学的家庭。综合运用部分,先和同伴谈论自己的家庭成员,然后完成表格。最后处理自我评价内容。整节课的最后听一首英文歌曲,让学生在轻松的气氛中完成学习。整个设计遵循单词——语法——听说——综合运用—自我评估的顺序进行,讲练结合,听说写融入其中,穿插进行。同时,利用猜谜语、做游戏、听英文歌曲等为学生创造轻松的学习氛围。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握本单元新学的单词、短语和句型;

    掌握本单元的语法:现在进行时和方位介词。

    2.能力目标

    (1)能识别发/eɪ/, /aɪ/, /əʊ//aʊ/的常见字母或字母组合;

    (2)能正确运用本单元学的交际用语。

    3.情感目标

    了解家人间中西方文化的差异。

    重点难点

    1. 重点:

    (1)掌握本单元的语法:方位介词;现在进行时。

    (2)能识别发/eɪ/, /aɪ/, /əʊ//aʊ/的常见字母或字母组合;

    2. 难点:

    (1)能正确运用本单元所学的交际用语;

    (2)能恰当使用方位介词;能区别运用一般现在时和现在进行时。

    Step 1  Review

    Review the words in this unit.

    1. Get the class to look at the pictures, say and spell the words (rose, basket, policeman, paper, present, dictionary, teacup, bedroom).

     

    2. Play games.

      Get the class to look at the Chinese and say out the English words quickly.

    Step 2  Word exercises

    1. Get the class to unjumble the words in the box. (Building Your Vocabulary No. I )

     

    Answers: policeman, teacher, worker, doctor, driver, businessman, student

    2. Ask the students to guess a riddle:

    How do picnic baskets go to work?

    Someone _______ them.

    Answer: carries

    3. Look at the family photo and complete the passage.

     

     

     Answers: father, mother, brother, brother, family

    Step 3  Grammar

     一、方位介词

    1. Explain the usage of position words.

    方位介词表示人和事物之间的位置关系,它通常与后面的名词或代词构成介宾短语,位于be动词之后作表语,也可位于名词之后作定语。常见的方位介词有:

    This is a living room. Jenny and Danny are watching TV. Jenny is sitting on the sofa and Danny is sitting ________ her. The TV set is ________ the books. Mr. Smith is sitting on the couch.     二、现在进行时态

    1. 含义:表示现在或当前一段时间内正在进行的动作。

    2. 构成:be (am, is, are) + v.-ing

    3. 用法:

    (1) 表示现在正在进行的动作,句中常含有now, look, listen等词。

     Look! The children are playing football. 看,孩子们正在踢足球。

    (2) 表示当前一段时间内正在进行的动作。

     We are having a good time these days. 这几天我玩得很开心。

    (3)come, go, leave等词的现在进行时态可以表示将来发生的动作。

     They are coming in an hour. 一个小时之后他们就将到来

    4. Get the class to rewrite the sentences in the present continuous tense.

    1. They work together.  They are working together.

    2. We make dumplings.

    3. We sing and dance together.

    4. I write an e-mail.

    5. I sit on a chair.

    6. My mum sets the table.

     Answers: 2. We are making dumplings.

    3. We are singing and dancing together.

    4. I am writing an e-mail.

    5. I am sitting on a chair.

    6. My mum is setting the table.

    Step 4  Listening

    Play the recording for the class to listen to the passage and tick the correct answers.

    1. Where is Kate from?

    She is from China. She is from America.  She is from Canada.

    2. What does her mother do?

    She is a doctor.  She is a teacher. She is a worker.

    3. How old is Tom?

    He is twelve.  He is three.   He is seven.

    4. How many people are in her family?

    There are three. There are four. There are five.

    Answers: 1. She is from Canada. 2. She is a teacher. 3. He is seven.

    4. There are five.

    Step 5  Sounds

    1. Play the recording for the class to listen and repeat.

    /eɪ/ name     lake play      great

    /əʊ/   old      rose      close radio  

    /aʊ/   about house    how now

    2. Conclusion.

      a/ay/ea /eɪ/

    Step 6 Interview  

    First, get the students to interview a student. Ask questions about his or her family:

    How many family members does he/she have?

    Does he/she have any uncles or aunts?

    How many cousins does he/ she have?

    Step 7  Putting It All Together

    1. Teacher says: Work in pairs. Talk about your family members and complete the table.

     

      Example:

    Jack is my brother. He is 10 years old. He is a student. His favourite colour is yellow. His favourite food is hamburgers.

    2. Check them.

    Step 8  Self-Evaluation

    1. Get the class to find more examples and check them in pairs.

    2. Give the class possible versions.

      (1) Talking about Family Members

    We are the Smith family.

    My mother’s name is Mary Smith.

    My uncle and aunt have one daughter, Li Jing.

    (2) Talking about Age

     How old are you?

    He is thirty.

    Im thirteen years old.

    (3) Talking about Position

    The desk is beside the bed.

    The dictionary is on the desk.

    The picture is above the bed.

    (4) Present Continuous Tense

    We are having a picnic near the lake.

    My sister Lynn is playing with my cousin, Heidi.

    My mother and Aunt Jane are cooking.

    Step 9  Summary

    1. 表示方位的介词有:above, beside, in front of, behind, under, on等;

    2. 现在进行时表示当前在进行或发生的动作,其构成为“be+现在分词

    3. 常见的发/eɪ/, /aɪ/, /əʊ//aʊ/的字母和字母组合;
