    第二节
Instead f sitting there, he threw himself frm the wheelchair. Glenn pulled himself acrss the grass, dragging his legs behind him. He wrked his way t the fence. With great effrt, he raised himself up n the fence. Then he began dragging himself alng the fence, determined that he wuld walk.He started t d this every day until he wre a smth path all arund the yard beside the fence. There was nthing he wanted mre than t develp life in thse legs.
Ultimately thrugh his daily massages, his irn persistence and his reslute determinatin, he did develp the ability t stand up, then t walk haltingly(断断续续), then t walk by himself - and then - t run.
Glenn began t walk t schl, then t run t schl, t run fr the sheer jy f running.Later in cllege he made the track team.Still later in Madisn Square Garden this yung man wh was nt expected t survive, wh wuld surely never walk, wh culd never hpe t run - this determined yung man, Dr.Glenn Cunningham, ran the wrld's fastest mile!
