    Passage 3
Upcycling( 升级再造) is the prcess f changing ld materials int smething useful and ften beautiful.
S, is it the same as recycling? N. Recycling takes materials—paper r glass—and breaks them dwn s their base materials can be remade int a new prduct. When yu upcycle an item(物品), yu are nt breaking dwn the material, yu are simply refashining it. Fr example, yu might make shes ut f ld tyres. Als, the upcycled item is typically f the same, r even better, quality(质量) than the riginal(原来的).
Upcycling isn’t a new idea. Sme f the best examples f mdern-day upcycling cme frm the 1930s t 1940s when families didn’t have enugh materials. In thse days, things were repurpsed ver and ver until they were n lnger useful. Fr example, an ld dr can be made int a new dining table. Ecnmising (节约) is still a trend(趋势) tday and a big reasn why mre and mre peple upcycle. But an even bigger reasn fr the rebirth f upcycling is its gd influence n the envirnment.
Upcycling is green. The plain and simple fact f the matter is that upcycling is much better fr the planet than thrwing things away. When yu upcycle, yu reduce ne item that ends up n the waste muntain. Upcycling is als cnsiderably mre envirnmentally friendly than recycling, which needs energy r water t break dwn materials. Upcycling just needs yur wn creativity and effrt.
Grace Rbinsn, frm the UK, takes used tea bags and turns them int dresses, shes and even hats. Every day she drinks sme tea, and then dries ut the tea bags with the tea still in them. When they dry, she takes the tea ut and sews the bags tgether t make clthes. This can take a lng time—mabybe mnths fr a single dress—s Grace gets friends t help her by drinking tea t and passing their tea bags n t her.
There are tw ways t supprt the upcycling mvement. Srt(分类) thrugh yur wardrbe (衣
橱 )r recycling bin and create items yurself, r buy ready-made items frm upcycled materials. Bth ways are gd fr the envirnment and in return, yu get smething that’s bth attractive and practical.
We can learn frm the passage that upcycling .
can imprve the quality f items
    needs mre energy than recycling
needs t break dwn base materials
    prduces mre waste than recycling
The underlined wrd “refashining” in Paragraph 2 prbably means “ ”.
    A. reduceB. reuseC. renameD. remake
The writer prbably agrees that .
it is better t make clthes with used tea bags
upcycling is much greener than recycling
it is necessary t help thers t upcycle
peple need t be mre creative
What des the last paragraph mainly tell us ?
It’s better t buy ready-made items frm upcycled materials.
Hw t get smething that’s bth attractive and practical
Hw t supprt the upcycling mvement.
It’s imprtant t create items urselves.
Which f the fllwing wuld be the best title fr the passage?
Get started t recycle tdayB. A mdern trend: upcycling
    C. Is it the same as recycling?D. T recycle r t upcycle?

    Eating Tgether, Separately(分开地)
Separate dining is cmmn in the western culture, while in China’s dining culture, whether dining at hme r eating ut, a gruped dining system is used in mst situatins.
Hwever, the crnavirus pandemic has challenged the deep-rted Chinese dining traditin f sharing dishes tgether, which inspires the gvernment, restaurants and citizens t rethink abut eating custms.
Standards n individual( 供一人用的)dining, serving chpsticks( 公筷) and tw pairs f chpsticks came ut n March 18,2020. Here are the main pints.
Individual diners’ fd shuld be served t custmers in separate tableware. Each shared dish shuld be served with a separate pair f serving chpsticks.
Each diner shuld have tw pairs f differently clred chpsticks. One is t get fd frm shared dishes t place int individual bwls, and the ther is fr eating frm individual bwls.
The abve new standards aim t prtect the public health in a scientific and practical way. Over
200 cmpanies have fllwed the guideline(s 指导原则). In rder t encurage custmers t fllw
the standards, sme restaurants ffer parking cupns(优惠券) t thse wh use serving chpsticks. Accrding t a survey abut separate dining by think tank Thinker, nearly 89% f 100,000

Fr Chinese, it is nt easy t change their dining behavir, because they think the gruped dining system is a traditin. When they share the fd, they are building up a clse relatinship amng diners. Besides, it is difficult t divide Chinese dishes int separate parts.
Eating separately is a break frm traditin, but it is helpful t prevent diseases and imprve health. Peple can still sit at the same table, sharing the same fd and the same culture in a new way. It als encurages advanced cking skills, which means a chance f creating smething new in Chinese fd.
When did the standards n individual dining cme ut?
What inspires the gvernment, restaurants and citizens t rethink abut eating custms?
What is the aim f the new standards?
