more than 指数量多于I’ve known him for more than twenty years.不只是，不仅仅He is more than a father to her.He more than smiled, but laughed.极其，非常She was more than kind to us.He was more than upset by the accident.难以，完全不能，常与情态动词can连用That is more than I can tell= I can’t tell that.

less than指数量不足，不到It’s less than a mile from the station.In less than an hour he finished it.比….小，比……少She eats less than she should.一点也不He was less than helpful when we arrived.

Hno more……than / not more……thanno more……than = neither….nor 同…….一样不not more……than = not so……as 不如，不及，都具有某种品质，但是程度不一样He is no more a writer than a painter他既不是画家，也不是作家。This book is not more difficult than that one这本书不如那本书更难。I
no less than / not less thanno less than 多达，有……之多，强调多not less than 不下于，不少于，至少He has no less than seven questions他有7个问题之多。He has not less than seven questions他至少有7个问题。
Jno more……than / no less…….thanno more……than 表示：与…….一样不，两者都否定no less…….than 表示：和……一样，两者都肯定She’s no more a great singer than I am. 他不是个优秀的歌手，我也不是。Your brother is no less wise than you. 你的兄弟跟你一样聪明。 二、介词1.with+宾语+形容词2.He often sleeps with the windows open.3.Don’t speak with your mouth full.4.With+宾语+副词5.He stood before his teacher with his head down.6.He was lying on the bed with all his clothes on.7.With+宾语+名词8.He died with his daughter yet a schoolgirl.9.With+宾语+介词短语10.She said goodbye with tears in her eyes.11.He was asleep with his head on his arms.12.With+宾语+doing13.He fell asleep with the lamp burning.14.I won’t be able to go on holiday with my mother being ill.15.doing表示动作正在进行或在当时看来已是一种在持续的状态。16.With+宾语+过去分词17.He sat there with his eyes closed.18.All the afternoon he worked with the door locked.19.过去分词表示它与前面作宾语的名词或代词具有被动的关系。20.With+宾语+不定式21.I can’t go out with all these clothes to wash.22.With so many people to help us, we are sure to finish it on time. 三、副词（一）时间副词1.Still, already, just等通常位于实义动词之前，be动词之后；当表示强调时，still和already也可位于be动词等助动词之前2.She still was beautiful at the age of forty.3.I already have told him about it.4.Still若用于否定名，则总是位于助动词之前5.I still don’t understand what you mean.6.Still和already还可位于句末，表示惊奇7.Are you on Page One still?8.Is your mother back already?（二）方式副词1.有的方式副词（如bravely, cleverly, cruelly, foolishly, generously, kindly, secretly, simply等）位于谓语动词之前或位于句末会导致句子意思发生变化2.They secretly decided to leave the city.3.他们秘密地决定离开这个城市。4.They decided to leave the city secretly.5.他们决定秘密地离开这个城市。（三）频度副词1.常见的频度副词2.ever, never, seldom, rarely, usually, continually, always, once, often, occasionally, constantly, frequently3.含有否定意义的频度副词放在句首时，其后要倒装4.Never have I been there.5.Seldom does he see a film.6.频度副词在否定句中的位置7.有的频度副词可位于否定词not之前或之后（如usually, often），8.He doesn’t usually come here. = He usually doesn’t come here.9.有的频度副词必须位于否定词之后（如always, constantly, continually, continuously,均含有“连续不断”之意），10.She doesn’t always come late.11.而有的却必须位于否定词not之前（如sometimes, frequently）12.He is sometimes not responsible for what he does.（四）焦点副词1.Only在句中的位置不同，意义不同2.Only I kissed her last night. （只有我吻了她）3.I only kissed her last night.（即没干别的事）（五）连接副词1.常见的有2.therefore, moreover, besides, otherwise, however, meanwhile, thus, at the same time, furthermore, consequently3.用于连接并列句子的连接副词，这些副词前要用分号或句号。如果用逗号，必须加上并列连词如and4.Peter is our youngest child, and we have three others besides.5.I don’t like it; besides, it’s too expensive.6.We all tried our best; however, we lost the game.（六）兼有两种词形的副词1.两种词形而含义不同的副词
