I know there are many interesting and useful jobs but I would like to be a teacher. I began to think about my future job at the age of fourteen. I was born into a family of teachers.

When I was a little girl, I often went to school with my mother. When my mother was in the class I watched her, and I wanted to be popular among (在……当中) pupils like her.

One day in the 9th grade, the head teacher asked me to give an English lesson to the 5th grade pupils because their English teacher caught a cold. When I entered the classroom, many pupils had been at their desks. I said, “Good morning, ” and began the lesson.

I wanted the pupils to like English. We read, wrote, sang songs, asked questions and answered questions. I was happy teaching the pupils.

Now I know what I am going to do after leaving school. I want to be an English teacher. It's a very interesting but difficult job. It's interesting because I can work with pupils. It's difficult because I have to teach them a foreign language.

To be a good teacher means to know a lot. Every day I improve my English by reading books, reading English newspapers, looking through magazines and speaking with English people. I like English and I want to be a good teacher.

Huang Qingjun is a photographer. He is famous for his photo series (系列) “Jiadang”. He travelled around China and took photos of people that were standing outside their homes with all their family stuff(家当). Huang started taking photos when he was a teenager and then worked for the magazine Chinese National Geography. In 2003 he began the “Jiadang” photo project and he spent about 19 years finishing it.

Through the photo series, Huang wanted to show the huge changes in people's lives. At the beginning, his pictures showed people's basic needs: most of them had a few chairs, tables and beds. Later, we could see the impact of modernization (现代化的影响) because almost every family owned a TV, a DVD or a phone.

At first, some people felt it was strange to take all their family stuff outside for a photo, but they mostly said yes when they understood why.

Some photos took Huang a few days and others several months. He once visited one place where a couple had to move away because of the government's plans to build tall buildings there. In the photo, the couple were sitting on their bed and you can see the Chinese word “chai” on the wall behind them. But the couple were happy because they got lots of money for moving and living a better life.
