    The fur yung faces n which the firelight shne bright-ened at the cheerful wrds, but darkened again as J said sadly,“We haven't gt Father, and shall nt have him fr a lng time.”She didn't say“perhaps never,”but each silently added it, thinking f Father far away, where the fighting was.
    Nbdy spke fr a minute;then Meg said in an altered tne,“Yu knw the reasn Mther prpsed nt having any presents this Christmas was because it is ging t be a hard winter fr everyne;and she thinks we ught nt t spend mney fr pleasure, when ur men are suffering s in the army. We can't d much, but we can make ur little sacrifices, and ught t d it gladly. But I am afraid I dn't.”And Meg shk her head, as she thught regretfully f all the pretty things she wanted.
    “But I dn't think the little we shuld spend wuld d any gd. We've each gt a dllar, and the army wuldn't be much helped by ur giving that.I agree nt t expect anything frm Mther r yu, but I d want t buy Undine and Sintram fr myself.I've wanted it s lng,”said J, wh was a bkwrm.“I planned t spend mine in new music,”said Beth, with a little sigh, which n ne heard but the hearth brush and kettle hlder.
    美国作家兼写作导师 Glria Kemptn的一番话道出了对话的重要性:“对话不仅为页面留白,创造视觉上的吸引力,还令故事中的人物生动鲜活,创造情感上的吸引力。故事背景若通过对话场景展示,我们会兴趣大增。对话透露了人物的动机,展现了与其表面活动截然相反的目标。充满张力的人物对话能使读者了解人物的内心世界,并为故事发展制造悬念。对话场景经展开便可加快故事的节奏。对话使读者对故事背景产生身临其境之感。”
    1)对话描写必须为推动故事情节服务,是情节发展的一个环节,每段出现一两句即可;2)对话描写必须反映人物的心理与情感,刻画人物的性格;3)对话描写不宜过长,侧重口语化词汇,避开生僻词汇;4)对话描写要尽可能结合动作描写,明确对谁说,具有画面感;5)对话描写中要学会使用几个感叹词,表示说话人的喜、怒、哀、乐等情绪。
    标点符号和大小写
    准确标点,使人物对话“完整”
    1. 对话标签在前She said,“I wuld like t g with yu, but I haven’t finished my hmewrk.”2. 对话标签在后“I wuld like t g with yu, but I haven’t finished my hmewrk,”she said.3. 对话标签在句子中间“I wuld like t g with yu,”she said, “but I haven’t finished my hmewrk.”(引用内容放在sb.said前面时,引号内不能用句号结尾,只能用逗号,除感叹号和问号外。)"Mr. Craven? "Mary asked in astnishment."Well, I d like birds! "Mary grinned.
    注意:对话标签在后或者在句子中间时(第2,3种情况),如果主语是名词,则可以倒装。而代词不可以倒装,said she是错误的。“I wuld like t g with yu, but I haven’t finished my hmewrk,”said Emily(或者Emily said.)“I wuld like t g with yu,”said Emily/ Emily said, “but I haven’t finished my hmewrk.”
    对话模式举例1. "," he said, ding ... --say后接分词作状语 1) "I didn't knw what I was ding," she said, laughing at the memry.2) "I'll get us sme cffee," she said, heading fr the kitchen.3) "That's nice," Alex said quietly, fcusing n his plate.4) "Very clever," said the teacher, ndding his head as if pleased.5) "Uncle, frgive me, I did that... unintentinally," he said, pinting t the brken glass.6) "We dn't d any harm," said the by, evidently frightened by my wrds.

"," he said, and (then he) 后接and, 先后动作或构成并列句1) "Gd mrning, children!" said the minister, and he kindly shk hands with bth.2) "Yes, I think s," he said reluctantly, and left the study.3) "Cme here," said the little man, and tk her t ne f the crners f the building.

    细节描写,令人物对话显“丰满”标题
    以《典范英语10秘密花园》为例,通过对话描写的技巧分析和佳句赏析,来探讨和学习 人物对话描写的写作技能,更深层次地把握人物对话描写的准确传神。 (1)Marsha chewed her lip. "Dn't tell nbdy I tld yu that, will yu? I'll be in such truble if yu d.     “chewed her lip”,用具体动作代替nervus
    具体动作代替 angry
    as if 虚拟语气,描绘出了说话人当时恼羞成怒的样子。
    (4)(5)中都运用了现在分词(-ing)作状语表示伴随或原因,描写说话人说话时的伴随动作。

    2. 对话描写过多,不够精简。
    3.追求花哨,过度使用对话标签“That is fantastic news,” he said happily.此句中完全没有必要加上一个happily来表达说的方式,因为句中的fantastic一词足以说明说话人了表情,过度强调 会让读者的注意力集中在“说话的方式”而不是“说话的内容”。建议改为:“That is fantastic news!” he said/screamed/exclaimed. 一个感叹号和一个fantastic已经足以让读者想象当时的情景。适当的“艺术留白”也是需要的,这样会留给读者想象的空间。
    还有一种避免过度的dialgue tags的方法是运用“动作描写”,尤其是表情上动作来取而代之。如:Her eyes reflected the candlelight as she smiled at her sn. “Everyne is unique. Just fllw yur heart and be yurself!”当她对儿子微笑时,她的眼睛反射着烛光。 “每个人都是独一无二的。 只要跟随你的心,做你自己!”
    4. 对话对象十分明确,仍使用对话标签“I tld yu already,” I said, glaring.评析:此句貌似豪华,其实对话中的主语“I”已经清晰地说明了说话者,完全没有必要用对话标签“I said” 来说说话对象。纠正方法:加上一点动作描写就可以避免这种错误,并且提升语言的生动性。I glared at him. “I tld yu already.”
    以读促写情景赏析: Jane 和Rchester的经典对白"I tell yu I must g!" Jane retrted, rused t smething like passin(被热情之类的东西唤醒/激起be rused t sth.), "D yu think, because I am pr, bscure(默默无闻), plain(长相平庸), and little, I am suless and heartless?” Rchester was speechless, eyebrws frwned. “Yu think wrng! I have as much sul as yu, and full as much heart!" respnded Jane, with her eyes fcused n Rchester, expecting the reply. 仿写:阿甘正传的经典片段“Hell. My name’s Frrest. Frrest Gump,” Gump ventured, rused t smething like interest. The wman ndded with n reply, eyes fcused n her bk. “D yu want a chclate?” asked Gump, with a bx f chclates in his hand and cntinued,”My mama always said life was like a bx f chclates. Yu never knw what yu’re ging t eat,” mumbled Gump, expecting the reply.
