In 1969, watching the landing of Apollo 11 on the Moon on TV from his parents’ farm in Canada, Chris Hadfield was amazed and excited. On that day, at only nine years old, Chris made the most important decision of his life: He was going to be an astronaut.
There wasn’t even a training program in Canada to become an astronaut; but Chris was determined. He spent a great deal of time studying and fixing engines. After school he joined the Canadian army where he learned to fly many different types of planes. Chris did a lot of research for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the United States and had special training. Finally, in 1995, he rode his first rocket into space.
Chris became the first Canadian astronaut to walk in space, and went on a number of space missions throughout his career. The most memorable was his five-month stay on the International Space Station (ISS) as commander, between December 2012 and May 2013. He posted on social media thousands of photos of Earth and videos of himself explaining how things work in zero gravity. His followers could watch him sleeping, brushing his teeth, washing his hands, or preparing “space” snacks in zero gravity, which turned him into a social media phenomenon.
Today, Chris travels the world giving talks about his work. He once said, “Decide in your heart of hearts what really excites and challenges you, and start moving your life in that direction. Every decision you make, from what you eat to what you do with your time tonight, turns you into who you are tomorrow. Look at who you want to be, and start sculpting yourself into that person. You may not getexactly where you thought you’d be, but you will be doing things that suit you in a profession you believe in. Don’t let life randomly kick you into the adult you don’t want to become.

B. Opportunities go hand in hand with challenges.
C. From small beginnings come great endings.

Dancing with your grandma for 15 minutes a week promotes positive feelings and improves her state of mind, a study claims. Doctors from Israel are encouraging younger family members to have a regular visit to their grandmas and have a dance with their grandmas.
And they found a 15 minute boogie (布吉舞) once a week lifted the spirits of the elder family members and helped strengthen the familial bond. In fact, it is called Dance Movement Therapy (DMT). DMT across the generations, complete with eye contact, was found to promote positive feelings and improve spirits for the elderly.
The grandparents reported a bright state of mind, happy memories and uplifted spirits. Dancing has also previously been linked to improved muscle strength, balance and endurance (耐力). For the grandchildren in the study, the weekly boogie changed how they view aging and allowed them to come to accept the eventual death of their elderly relatives.
The study, published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology, assessed how dance affected general health of 16 dance movement therapists (治疗师) and their grandmothers. DMT was taken seriously due to the fact that it is easily accessible and does not cost more to practice. The researchers were eager to examine a low-cost method to treat issues commonly faced by an aging population— such as limited mobility and depression(抑郁症). Grandchildren were instructed to make eye contact and encourage playfulness and touch. They were also told to mirror their grandmothers’ movements and give them time and space to rest when needed.
The sessions were recorded and then analysed while diaries and interviews captured the opinions and feelings of the participants. As well as the benefits to the health of the senior, the experiment also changed the idea of the younger family members.
28.What should the young people do when dancing with their grandmas?
A.Follow the grandmas’ steps.
B.Look at the grandmas’ eyes.
C.Move the bodies as long as possible.
D.Talk with their grandmas in gentle voice.
29.What can we infer from the third paragraph?
A.Dancing brings the young happy memories and uplifted spirits.
B.Dancing enables the senior to accept aging and death of their old relatives.
C.Dancing benefits both the senior and the young in the new study.
D.Dancing is linked to improved muscle strength and balance in the new study.
30.Which of the following is the best advantage of DMT?
A.Inexpensive. B.Relaxing.
C.Attractive. D.Pleasant.
31.What is the best title for the text?
A.What does DMT Mean?
B.Dancing: a Good Way to Stop Being Senior.
C.Why Don’t You Dance 15 Minutes Every Week?
D.DMT: Good for Senior People’s Health and Family Ties.

Google Cloud is racing to roll out new features and services aimed at helping its customers maintain business during the coronavirus pandemic, including a new security product expected to launch Tuesday. The new security product includes technology that could attract more businesses, especially those in highly regulated industries, to adopt cloud services. The technology protects data while it is being processed. “We wanted people comfortable in knowing they can move to the cloud and don’t have to worry about the security of their data,” said Mr. Kurian, chief executive of the unit.
Google Cloud accelerated the development of several features for its virtual meeting product, Google Meet, in April, including one that automatically filters out background noises such as keystrokes and dog barks. Another feature automatically adjusts a user’s video with lighting variations. In 2018, the company launched an AI tool for manufactures that automatically inspects products for quality.
Google Cloud also benefited from the protocols(协议) for Black Friday, when shopping websites see a rush of online shoppers, to deal with sudden more demand for cloud services. The protocols benefited the customers in online videogames, government services, education and shopping, who needed assistance in more computing capacity.
Also, the protocols benefited many companies. Godbole, chief information officer for home improvement company Lowe’s Cos., worked with Mr. Kurian and his team in March and April to manage increased business. Lowe’s customers were doubling on projects such as those related to home offices during those months, and “Our company saw tremendous demand,” Ms. Godbole said.
The coronavirus pandemic presented a new opportunity for Google Cloud to prove its value for customers, said Plummer, chief of research for cloud computing. “Google Cloud aims to differentiate itself by being known as a provider that can handle unpredictable events,” Mr. Plummer said. It aims to do that by offering secure remote-work tools and software development tools that require minimal coding. “Trust is built in times of crisis,” he said.
32.During the coronavirus pandemic, Google Cloud is working hard to ________.
A.start more highly regulated businesses.
B.help customers to save more money.
C.make people move to the cloud more safely.
D.remove data while it is being processed.
33.What does the underlined phrase “filters out” in Paragraph 2 mean?
A.Produces. B.Breaks. C.Matches. D.Removes.
34.Why does the author mention Ms. Godbole’s company?
A.To show the market needs the new products of Google Cloud.
B.To share the experience of Ms. Godbole’s company.
C.To offer an example of running a company in times of crisis.
D.To encourage people to follow the step of Godbole.
35.What does Mr. Plummer think of the new service of Google Cloud?
A.Insufficient. B.Reliable. C.Unpredictable. D.Complex
When everything goes wrong, always look at what you have, instead of what you have lost. Because it’s not what the world takes away from you that counts; it’s what you do with what you have left. 36
Pain is part of growing.
Sometimes life closes doors because it’s time to move forward. 37 When times are tough, remind yourself that no pain comes without a purpose. Remember that there are two kinds of pain: pain that hurts and pain that changes you. When you roll with life, instead of resisting it, both kinds help you grow.
38
Every time you get hurt, you heal. After darkness there is always light – you are reminded of this every morning, but still you often forget, and instead choose to believe that the night will last forever. It won’t. Nothing lasts forever.
Complaining changes nothing.
39 It’s always better to attempt to do something great and fail than to attempt to do nothing and succeed. It’s not over if you’ve lost; it’s over when you do nothing but complain about it. If you believe in something, keep trying. Don’t let the shadows of the past darken the doorstep of your future.
The best thing you can do is to keep going.
Don’t be afraid to get back up—to try again, to love again, to live again, and to dream again. Don’t let a hard lesson harden your heart. Life’s best lessons are often learned at the worst times and from the worst mistakes. There will be times when it seems like everything that could possibly go wrong is going wrong. 40
A.Everything in life is temporary.
B.And even if you fall short, keep going.
C.Your scars are symbols of your strength.
D.Those who complain the most, accomplish the least.
E.Here are a few tips to inspire you when you need it most.
F.That’s a good thing because we often won’t move unless life forces us to .
G.When you feel like quitting, remember that sometimes things can be right eventually.

Fifteen years ago, I was born in a big family. I had been taught that money couldn't buy everything ever since I was a little kid. My parents are the most hard-working people I have ever seen. As much as my parents tried to teach me these values, some could only be learned through personal experiences.
As a child, I would sit in the church trying to concentrate on the words of the priest (牧师), but my attention was soon attracted by the shining gold and the diamonds worn by the Saturday churchgoers. As my eyes began to wander, I noticed men dressed in their tailored suits and shirts accompanied by women in their designer dresses with matching handbags and shoes.
My family, on the other hand, was the opposite of rich. Our hand-me-down clothes had been washed so many times that the colors had become dull and lifeless. Although this revealed the money struggles of our large family, our faces were always washed and hair neatly combed. When sitting on the old big red and white truck after the service, I pictured the lives led by those driving their brand-new cars, wishing I would be one of them.I never stopped those fantasies, even when I was in middle school. Since it was a private school, most of the children came from wealthy families. As a result, I constantly felt ashamed. Although I could hide my lack of wealth at school by wearing our school uniforms, my poverty was embarrassingly apparent on weekends with my classmates wearing designer jeans and I had no choice but to wear my sisters’ old jeans. I never fitted in with my classmates. To my relief, there was only one girl named Julie who opened her heart to me. I was attached to her like a shadow. Soon, her birthday was approaching. Julie invited me to attend her birthday party.

DMT across the generations, complete with eye contact, was found to promote positive feelings and improve spirits for the elderly.(事实上,它被称为舞蹈运动疗法。

The best thing you can do is to keep going(你能做的最好的事情就是坚持下去)及下文Don’t be afraid to get back up----to try again, to love again, to live again, and to dream again.
56.which;57.competition;58.biggest; 59.a 60.Founded
61.but 62.enables 63.In 64.it 65.has offered
In the past few years, more than half of bookstores in China have closed down, _1__ is the result of the ___2___(compete) from online bookstores.可知,本空指代前面的句子“In the past few years, more than half of bookstores in China have closed down”,英语中可指代前面的句子,在定语从句中,要用关系词which。
根据前面的“one of the….”
serve as…
devote…to doing sth。
Dear Mike,
It's really exciting to have you in my city this holiday, and and I'm more than happy to recommend it to you.
Located in Southwest of China, Chongqing is a popular tourist destination, attracting people all over the world. A tourist attraction that you can’t miss here is our ancient town, Ciqikou. You can buy delicate handicrafts and taste a variety of local foods including Hotpot. Plus, the night view is typical of Chongqing. As night falls, the buildings in the downtown look like colorful crystals with all lights on and the river looks like a floating silver tie.
Chongqing has a lot to offer. I prefer to guide you to explore more. At last, wish you a pleasant journey.
Yours
Li Hua
One possible version:
However, I grew upset as I couldn't afford a gift. It would be such an embarrassing scene to be present without a gift. I even thought about quitting, but I was not able to bring it forth. I struggled for days but couldn't figure out any solution. One day, while helping with my hardworking parents with the housework, it suddenly occurred to me that maybe I could make a gift by myself. I immediately started my DIY project, which ended up with a toy doll. The big day finally came. I arrived at her house and handed her the box.
When she opened the gift box, my heart was too nervous to beat. I looked closely at her face, wondering if she would just laugh at me. What happened next was totally beyond my imagination. Upon seeing the doll, Julie let out a cry of excitement and she held it close to her face, saying repeatedly that it was the sweetest gift she had ever received. Her words freed me. I couldn't help smiling together with her. At that precious moment, I realized money couldn’t buy everything. It was our genuine friendship that really mattered.

M: Five? Hm … We’re a bit busy tonight. If you’d like to leave your name and phone number, we’ll give you a ring when a table opens up.
W: Will it be a long wait? If so, I’d rather just go to McDonald’s across the street.

W: Hello? My name’s Jenny. I’m calling in regards to the ad I saw in the newspaper this morning for the receptionist position.

W: I have some. When I was 17, I answered phone calls and made scheduled appointments for my dad’s landscaping company.
M: Oh, how big is your dad’s company?
W: Well, it’s just him, my mom, and my big brother. They cut grass for people in our town who
are too busy to cut it themselves.
M: I see. Can you commit to coming into our office Monday to Friday, 9 to 5?
W: Yes. I’m taking night classes at community college, but my first class isn’t until 6 p.m.

M: Yeah it is. She always walks to work. I offer a ride every day, but she insists on walking.
W: I usually take a bus, but it takes half an hour.
M: That is a long time. Anyway, have a piece of pie.
W: Mmm … This is delicious, Tom! You always had a talent for baking, even when we were kids.
M: Mom always had me help her. I remember you always ran away when you saw the mixing bowls come out. Now I usually bake something every weekend. I just like being in the kitchen.
W: Well this pie is just amazing, better than any bakery.
M: Oh come on, it’s not too difficult, really.
W: I never cook anything. My husband, Jim, usually makes dinner every night and breakfast every morning.
M: Do you go out to eat often?
W: Oh yeah. Sometimes he doesn’t have time to cook, so we’ll go out and find somewhere to eat.
M: There are quite a few great restaurants in this neighborhood. You can try something today.
(Text 10)
M: I think I’m pretty sensitive to the weather, more so than other people I know. I love summer the most. The days are so long and the sun shines so brightly. Fall is great, too. I enjoy the colorful leaves and the mild, cool weather. Spring’s also nice. But winter … Oh I just can’t stand winter. It’s just so dark and cold all the time here. I go to work downtown in the dark, I come home in the dark. And the cold … I know winter is supposed to be cold, but in the last few years, it’s just been freezing. Winter comes every year, and every year, no one’s prepared for it. The first time it snows, everything shuts down. The trains stop, the planes stop, and no one can leave their house because no one comes to move the snow off these smaller country roads. If you try and drive on the roads, you get stuck in the snow. If you try and walk outside, you slip and fall on the ice. I think other people are affected by winter too. No one smiles that much. No one talks that much. I think I’ll move somewhere warmer down south.
