第二节 (满分20 分)
One possible version:
So when receiving it, her teacher was surprised but smiled. She started reading what was written in it. The teacher’s heart was filled with pleasure and happiness. She hugged Tinky tightly and said “Thank you so much honey”! Tinky was also full of joy. She never saw her teacher that happy before. Then Tinky thought what if her teacher came to know that it was a stolen card. She felt quite ashamed of her stupidity. She decided to tell the teacher the truth. Knowing what had happened, the teacher praised her for her honesty. She realized a greeting card was not costly but the value it gave was precious.
附:听力原文
(Text 1)
M: Would you mind my closing the window? It’s so cold in the room now.
W: Sorry, but I prefer fresh air if possible.
(Text 2)
M: Do you know where the closest bus station to the college is?
W: Yes, it is three blocks up from the ice cream shop, right next to the library.
(Text 3)
W: The play in the theater last night is so interesting that I’d like to see it again.
M: Yes, I can’t agree more. But Bob thinks just the opposite.
(Text 4)
M: Mary, you are always so early! How do you usually go to school? By bus or by bike?
W: I prefer bus, but I hate traffic jams during the rush hours.
(Text 5)
W: Ted, you look very nervous. What’s the matter?
M: Tina, you know we will have a math exam tomorrow. I am poor at it.
W: Don’t worry. I can help you. You know, I am very good at it.
(Text 6)
M: Good morning. Can I help you, madam?
W: Yes, I am looking for a pair of jeans for my friend.
M: What size does she wear?
W: Size 8, oh no, maybe size 7. She is on a diet now. I am not sure at the moment.
M: Well, you may take size 7 and you are welcome to exchange it for a different size if it doesn’t fit. But be sure to return it within ten days.
W: All right, thank you. How much do they cost?
M: 19 dollars for size 7 and 20 dollars for size 8.
W: OK. I’ll take a size 7.
(Text 7)
M: Ella, do you have any aspirin? I have a terrible headache.
W: I don’t have an aspirin. Perhaps you should go to a doctor.
M: No, no. I’m okay. I think I can manage.
W: Really? John! You look sick. You must go home.
M: I can’t. I’m already behind schedule. Besides, you know, Mr.Thomas. He may think that I am not working hard.
W: Don’t think too much about work. Ah, you’ve got a fever!
M: Do I? Oh, no!
W: Listen to me. You go home now. I’ll call my doctor and have him go over, OK?
M: What about Mr. Thomas?
W: I’ll handle him. Now go home. I’ll call you after work.
M: Thanks a lot. Goodbye!
(Text 8)
M: Hello, Jack here.
W: Hello, Jack. It’s Mary. What are you doing in your office?
M: I’m working. I often work late on Thursday. I’m busy this week.
W: Would you like to come and have dinner with us on Friday?
M: Tomorrow? No, I am afraid I won’t be able to. I’m going on business to Birmingham.
W: What about Saturday?
M: Sorry, I never go out on Saturday evening. I always watch football on Saturday evening.
W: Will you come round next Tuesday?
M: Next Tuesday? Just a moment. It will be the twenty-first of May? Oh, dear. Hum, I promised my aunt I’ll be at her birthday party.
W: What do you say to next Wednesday then?
M: Let me see. Yes, Mary. Let’s make it next Wednesday.
W: Okay. Bye.
M: Bye.
(Text 9)
W: There’s never anything to do in this town, is there? Let’s choose a hobby, an outdoor one for the weekends and holidays.
M: OK, then, how about going fishing? We could go to the river in the valley over there, or even down to the lakes.
W: Well, I think I’d prefer to do something a bit more exciting. And anyway I’d feel sorry for the poor fish! Perhaps we could try a water sport, something like water-skiing, maybe.
M: Yes, but we can’t afford to hire a boat. I think we should do something cheaper, or better still, free!
W: All right, why don’t we go rock-climbing? That’s free, and it can be exciting, too.
M: Hmm. I think it’d be better to do something less dangerous.
W: OK, let me see... I know—what about mountain-biking? It’s outdoor, quite safe, fairly cheap...
M: Yes, we could hire a couple of bikes and see if we like it. So shall we do that, then?
W: I think it would be great. We could ride through the hills and into the forest. So, yes, let’s go for that one.
(Text 10)
W: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to our tour. This morning, we’re going to take you to some points of historical interest in the city. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
If you look out of the window on your right, you’ll see the Grange, one of the oldest buildings in the city. It was built for the mayor 200 years ago, and still has most of the original furniture. Perhaps the most interesting thing is that every Saturday afternoon, you can come and watch them bake bread the way it was done 200 years ago.
On your left is University College, the founding college of the University of Toronto. This university building is just 125 years old. We’ll be stopping in a moment at Bridgeton Castle. The castle was built by Sir Henry Pellet for his young wife. He bought almost all of the building materials from England. Notice the beautiful glass windows. Unfortunately, Sir Henry’s young wife became ill and died before the castle was completed. Sir Henry became so unhappy that he left the castle and returned to England. No family members ever lived there.
