Good morning, everyone!

I'm very glad to give a speech today. The topic of my speech is Protect Wild Animals.

   As we all know, animals also play a part in keeping the balance of nature. Unfortunately they are being over–hunted, and some of them are dying out. So it is urgent to take some measures to protect them. First, we must build nature reserves. Second, we should raise our awareness of environmental protection. To harm animals is to harm ourselves. Therefore, let's take the responsibility and do what we can to protect them. I hope in the future we can live harmoniously and happily together with animals.

W: The Browns. They said they’re having a party in the garden tomorrow afternoon. They wanted us all to go to it.

M: Don’t you have to go to your piano class tomorrow night?

W: No. Mrs. Johnson is sick these days. She’s at hospital now. I only need to practice the piano at home.

M: So will you go to the party?

W: Yes. I really want some fun with our neighbors.

M: Yes. The weatherman said it would turn rainy tomorrow.

W: I really hate it. The kids are really looking forward to going out, but they have to spend the weekend at home because of the weather.

M: They don’t have to.

W: What do you mean?

M: They can do something exciting indoors, like indoor climbing. There are many indoor climbing centers open to kids 5 and older in the city, such as Cliffhanger Climbing, the Edge Climbing Center in North Vancouver, and the Rock Wall in Maple Ridge.

W: Great. Then let’s take the kids to the last one. It’s the closest to our home.

M: OK.

W: Christopher, you said you would be back around 3:30 pm. Why did it take you one more hour to get back?

M: Sorry, Mom. I met a man who had locked his car key and cellphone in his car. He couldn’t use his car and he looked worried.

W: So did you lend him your bike?

M: No. He asked to use my phone. He wanted his wife to bring his car key to him. But his wife had no car.

W: So what did you do?

M: I told him to tell his wife that I was going to get the car key for him. So I rode all the way to his home and got his car key for him.

W: Now I see what has happened. You must be tired now. Why not go and sit for a while?

M: I’m not tired, but I do think I need a shower.

M: Hi, Sara.

W: Hey, John. What’s up? I never thought you’d be home on a Saturday night!

M: I’m just calling to tell you that I won’t be able to make it to your party tomorrow. My dog died today.

W: Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that! What happened?

M: I’m not exactly sure. I came home from work tonight and she wasn’t moving. I took her to the hospital and they said her heart had stopped.

W: That’s awful. Don’t worry about coming to the party. I completely understand.

M: Thanks. She was 15 years old, so at least she had a good, long life. I think she simply died of old age. I just need a few days to myself, but I should be feeling back to normal pretty soon.

W: Of course. If there’s anything you need, just give me a call. I can make you some food, or come to spend some time with you if you want me to.

M: Thanks. You’re a good friend. Have fun at the party.

W: Good morning, class! Next week, we will be visiting Golden State Park in San Francisco. I want to describe it to you before we go. It’s a very big park. It has a lot of trees, flowers, plants, and even small lakes in it. It also has other attractions. One of them is the De Young Museum. It has many different displays from different countries. There is also the House of Flowers. It has all kinds of flowers from around the world. It’s a beautiful place. The Japanese Tea Garden is also beautiful. It has well-kept trees and flowers surrounding a small lake. From there, we can walk all the way down to the beach. The park is so big that you forget you’re in the middle of a city. Many people walk around and enjoy being in nature. A lot of people ride their bicycles or have a picnic. On weekends, there are art shows and concerts. It’ll be fun!
