Part 1: Class Opening and Review

1. Greeting.

2. Drill

Review the names of shops.

T: I want to buy ___ (a dress, some tea, a bicycle tire).

Class: Let's go to the shop.

Part 2: New Concepts

1. Student book:

Explain the concept of "shop"

Say shop a few times with the class. Point to the picture to review the different items.

T: What are these?

C: Books.

T: Yes! This is the book shop.

Play the audiotape as the students follow in their books.

2. Demonstrate

Write department store on the blackboard. List different shop under it, and create a chart.

Shop:

Clothes

Bicycles

Toys

Ask the students to list as many words as they can.

3. Students book:

Play the audiotape as the students follow in their books.

Write May I help you on the blackboard. Introduce it to the students. Say it a few times with the class.

Part 3: Discuss the dialogue

1. Discuss.

Where are Danny and Jenny?

What does Jenny want to buy?

What does Danny want to buy?

How do you think Danny feels?

2. Make up a dialogue. 

Divide the class into groups. Tell them to make up a dialogue about shopping in a department store.
