一、教学目标(Teaching aims)
1. 知识目标Knowledge aim
Key words: mile, northwest, southeast, round.
Key structures: Take your swimming clothes because you may want to go swimming.
The best time to visit New England.
2. 能力目标Ability aim
从文本提取特定信息完成相应的阅读任务,并学习给予旅行建议。
To extract specific information from the passage.
To be able to give advice, using because, so and but.
To be able to introduce a place
3. 情感态度目标Emotion aim
激发学生了解世界的兴趣,让学生学会制作旅行计划
To arouse the students' interest in learning about world.
To make plans of traveling .
二、教材分析(Analysis of teaching book)
本模块的话题是“天气”。内容由“天气”延伸到去某地旅游的最佳时间等内容,与学生的生活息息相关,能够激发学生的学习兴趣。模块第一单元的听说课已经学习了有关天气的基本词汇和谈论可能性的句型。这节课是一节以天气为主线的读写课,介绍去美国旅游的最佳时间和地点。文中呈现了美国几个著名城市和地区并给出了到该地旅行的建议,能够很好地提高学生的语言运用能力。
三、学情分析(Analysis of students)
这篇文章介绍了美国七个不同的城市和地区,分别为:纽约,华盛顿,新英格兰,加利福尼亚,西雅图,阿拉斯加,德克萨斯。作者同时又以天气为主线,介绍去美国的最佳时间及原因和建议。文章有些长,但并不难理解,虽然本班级学生口语能力较差,但可以通过对本文章的仿写表达出自己所想。

1. 利用略读和细读技巧,完成信息提取和相应阅读任务;

2. Ask the students to underline the names of places
3. Know the locations of the places and make sure how to read correctly
4. Tell students the writer’s writing order

1. Scan or skim the text and tell the main idea.
2. Fast read the passage for the answer that needed for the questions.
3. Read the names of places aloud and know the locations of the places.

This is the second time that I prepared this kind of class.Last time, I didn’t have time to prepare the class for my personal reason.This time I have enough time but I really have no experience. So I hope teachers can point out my mistakes. Then I want to say “thanks”to my group fellows.Thank you for helping me sincerely. The following is my teaching process:
This lesson, I use pictures to lead in. Through skimming and careful reading skills to help students to read. I made forms to help students do careful reading.then ask them to be a guide to introduce the seven places , I think it can arouse their speaking interest.
After reading, I made challenge time,it is like a competition, so students like playing together and can get some useful knowledge.They can have the chance to work in group to write passage.it can make them have team spirit.
Teaching advantages: Give students enough time to show.
Lead students to use different reading skills.
Finish the teaching process completely
Teaching disadvantages: Teacher is short of background information about America.
Can’t lead students to show themselves well.
