Lesson duration: 40 mins
Teaching Objects:
The topic of this class is about everyday activities. By the end of the class, students should be able to talk about what people are doing?
Knowledge Objects:
(1). To master the new words:
newspaper/use/soup/wash/
(2).To master the new phrases
watching TV/ cleaning/reading a newspaper/ talking on the phone/ listening to a CD/
using the computer/making soup/washing the clothes/ exercising
(3).To master the target sentences
Key structures: A:一 What are you doing?
一I’m watching TV.
B:一 What is he/she doing?
一He/She is cleaning.
C: 一 Are you making soup?
一 Yes, I am./ No, I’m not.
D: 一 Is he/she exercising?
一Yes, he/she is. / No, he/ she isn’t.

Step 1.Greetings
Teacher greets the whole class with smile
Step 2. leading-in
Play the video “ Having a party” and lead in the everyday activities.
Step 3. presentation ① new phrases
Teacher presents words about everyday activities one by one and shows the English words
Step 4. practice ① new phrases
Teacher plays the game with Ss “Simon says” and practices the new phrases
Step 5. presentation ② target language
Teacher presents the target sentences and let Ss to practice together
Step 6. practice ② target language
Play the game “ train conversation” and practice the target languages
Step 7. presentation ③ target language
Teacher presents the target languages with the help of pictures and video
Step 9. practice ③ target language
Teacher shows some key words and phrases and let Ss make a conversation, then show their conversation on the stage.
Step 10. Consolidation
1. Match the words with the pictures. (1a)
2. What are these people doing? Write numbers from 1a.(1b)
Step12. Make a summary
Ss write a composition about the new words and the two target languages.

Ss do some exercises together ( multiple choices)
Homework:
1. Copy the new words/ phrases

2. Make a survey and write down the dialogue. What are you doing now?
