arund the tpic “What are yu ding?”.In the textbk, there are many pictures. It can make
the students interested in English . As we all knw that interest is the best teacher fr the students.
First, Knwledge gals
1. Key vcabulary : d hmewrk, watch TV, eat dinner, read, talk n the phne
and s n.
2. Target language: What are yu ding? I’m sleeping.
What’s he/she ding? He/She is reading.
What are they ding? They are eating dinner.
Secnd, the ability gals:
Train students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
Train students’ cmmunicative cmpetence.
Third, the emtinal gal:
The ability t cperate and deal with the difficulties
Furth, key pints:
The Present Prgressive Tense, make a cnversatin with it. Because the Present
Prgressive Tense is the imprtance f the curse in middle schl.
Fifth, difficult pints:
The frms f the Present Prgressive Tense: “be ding” and ask them nt t frget “be”. In my teaching life, I knw that the students ften lse the verb“be”.
Part 2 The analysis f students
The Ss have learned English fr sme years. They understand sme wrds and simple sentences. They are curius, active, fnd f games, and varius activities. They enjy learning thrugh cperatin in a relaxing atmsphere.
Part 3 Teaching methds:
In this lessn, my teaching methds include cmmunicative teaching methd, and task-based teaching methd, and grupwrk can help the students learn hw t get n well with thers.

Part 5 Teaching prcess
There are seven steps in my teaching prcess.
Step 1 Warming-up and leading-in (2mins)
1. Intrduce myself t the students.
Make free talks with the students, like Nice t meet yu ! May I knw yur name?
D yu like English? and s n.
(Make a cmmunicatin with the students will make them like me )
Step 2 Presentatin and practice (12 mins)
1. Shw sme cards and Revise sme verbs, and teach the key wrds and phrases. After teaching, play a memry game t check what they learnt.
(Revise the phrases t make the teaching smth. It’s the preparatin fr this lessn. )
2. Present the new language
First, Pretend t sleep and ask “What am I ding nw?” Then answer “I am sleeping.” by myself. At the same time write the sentences n the blackbard and ask the students t repeat Then, ask a student t d an actin, ask“What are yu ding nw?”,She/He answers “I’m…”
Next, ask the whle class“What’s he/she ding ?” and “What are they ding?” by the slides.
3. Shw sme pictures n the screen.
(This activity practices the key sentences)
Step 3. Guessing game(3 mins)
Shw the pictures and guess “what is she/he ding?” and “What are they ding?”
(This is the climax f the lessn )
(The activities can make them mre interested in English and make the lessn mre happy )
Step 4: Grupwrk(1c) (7 mins)
Fur students a grup, make a cnversatin. Act and shw us.
(Imprve the students’ speaking skills.)
Step 5:Shw sme new phrases and finish 1a,1b. (6 mins)
1. Ask sme students t read the phrases and match the wrds with the activities in 1a.
2. Play the tape and ask the students t write numbers in 1b.
(Imprve the students’ listening skills.)
Step 6:Grammar and exercise (8 mins)
1. Sum up the grammar and d sme exercise.
2. lk at the pictures and write 2 sentences f each picture. (Present Prgressive Tense and simple present tense)
(Imprve the students’ writing skills.)
Step7: Hmewrk (2 mins)
1.Make sentences abut family members and tell friends what are they ding?
2.Prepare fr next perid.
