Play a game. Give instructions, and the students follow them. If the student makes a mistake, he/she will sit down. The person who doesn’t make any mistake will be the winner.
Teach new words and phrases, and then check with the whole class.
Show some pictures about directions, and then teach the students the following expressions: walk past … walk to… Take the … turning on the …. / Turn … at the … crossing. Walk along the road and go straight on.
Show the four pictures in Part A1. Listen to the instructions and tick the correct boxes. Check the answers.
Play the recording again and help the Ss circle the main marks on the map.
Play the recording once again. Help the students draw the route and mark on the map where the treasure is. Ask some students to show the route and retell the route of the map.
1. Ask the students to imagine their classroom is the Sunshine Town. Some treasure boxes are hidden here. Show them the treasure map. Help the Ss to discuss with their partners and write down the routes from different places to treasure boxes. 2. Ask some of students to show the routes. Talk while they are walking.
