    On the surface, this pem is simplicity itself. The speaker is stpping by sme wds n a snwy evening. He r she takes in the lvely scene in near-silence, is tempted t stay lnger, but acknwledges the pull f bligatins and the cnsiderable distance yet t be traveled befre he r she can rest fr the night.

    1. Why did the writer stp by the wds? He wanted t watch the snw falling in the wds.2. Why did the hrse give the harness bells a shake? The hrse was unsure why they had stpped withut a barn nearby.3.
