    Reading is in tw parts.The first part is a letter frm a grandad t his grandsn.Grandad lives a lng and healthy life,but he has ever been addicted t nictine,s he lists reasns fr being addicted and the harm f smking.The secnd part gives advice abut hw t stp smking.
    Cmprehending cnsists f three kinds f exercises fr the students s as t help the students t get a better understanding f the text,that is t say,t help the teacher t check hw much the students have understd the text.Exercise 1:fill in the frm abut the cntent f the text;Exercise 2:discuss the cntent f the text;Exercise 3:write dwn an utline n hw t persuade peple t give up smking within five sentences.

    2.During Pre-reading the teacher can g arund the classrm and discuss the questins with several students.This discussin shuld be student-centered and help students understand the harm f smking.The teacher shuld lead the students t lk at the title and layut f the tw sectins in the reading passage and try t find ut the main idea f the text by skimming.
    3.While ding Reading and Cmprehending,the teacher may first ask the students t read the text quickly t get the general idea f each paragraph.After reading the passage,students are encuraged t answer sme questins and study the rganizatin f the text.
