Unit 1 Everyone will study at home.
【Teaching aims】
- Let the students learn the new words with sentences: life / in the future / will / chalk/ cable TV / calculator / cell phone / paper / ruler / satellite TV / no one/ everyone and some phrases.
- To get to know the Simple Future Tense ----will do sth
- To process information of future life in the listening material.
- To be able to talk about the prospect of one’s own school by using “ will ”and the vocabulary in this unit.

Tape recorder, Multi-Media
【Important points】
1. Vocabulary in this Unit
2. Listening ----listen to the conversation and understand it.
3. Speaking----Talk about schools in the future with “will” and new the words and phrases in this Unit.
【Difficult points】
- Pronunciation ---the syllables which are stressed in some long words and their pronunciation like calculator/satellite / dictionary etc and learn to use them.
- Listening and understanding---get to know the conversation by listening to the tape and do some exercises.
- Speaking----talk about school in the future
【Teaching procedure】
Step 1.
Warming up by a brief greeting and introduction.
Step 2 .
Lead in
- Present the new words by showing some pictures. Pay attention to the pronunciation. Get the ss to read the words correctly.
- Present the Future Tense / words and the phrase like “use…to/ everyone / no one etc.
Step 3.
Listen and check
- Pre-listening : Tell the ss that they will listen to a dialogue between Daming and Betty about their future school life .
- While listening : Let the Ss listen carefully and try to judge Yes or No.(Play the tape after reading the sentences and then check )--Activity 4.
- Play the tape again with books open and then choose the best answer to each question--- Activity 6
Step 4 .
Understanding and reading
1. T makes sure SS understand it .Deal with the problems the SS may raise and let them read the dialogue in roles aloud.
2. Retell the conversation ( if time permits ) ---Getting ready for the following task.
Step 5 .
Practice
1. Discussion ---Discuss in groups of four about the topic “What will schools be like in 50 years”
2. Give a report
Step 6.
Homework:
1. Memorize the words and retell the dialogue as fluently as possible
2. Make a poster about a school / classroom in the future and talk about it. (depend on the SS’ ability)
