Revision1.Greet students as usual and check their homework.2.Free TalkShow a picture of a car accident on the screen and let the students talk about the picture. Invite some students to answer the following questions.①What happened to the boy?②If you see the accident, what will you do to help the boy?③What can you learn about the accident?(训练学生的听说技能,通过此活动能够让学生用所学知识描述所经历之事,起到温故而知新的作用。)Step2. Lead-inSay, Yesterday we learned Present Perfect Tense. The sample sentences are “Have you…yet? Yes, I’ve already…, Have you…? No, I haven’t…yet.”Ask some students to use the structures and the phrases given on the blackboard to work in pairs.(复习上一节课Section A 1a-2d所学句式结构,自然导入新课学习,起到承上启下的作用。)Step3. Pre-readingShow the new words on the blackboard and ask students to read them correctly and have them make sentences with these words as much as possible.T: have you read the book Robinson Crusoe?Ss: Yes.T: If you have, what do you know about this story?Invite some students to answer the following questions:①What’s the main character?② What happened to him?③Can you imagine his life on the island?④What could he do to protect himself?⑤How long did he stay on the island?(通过该活动,即可以学习新的词汇,又能鼓励学生大胆开口,学以致用,把英语作为一种真正的交流工具,使素质教育的内容慢慢渗入其中)Step4. While-reading(3a-3c)1.Activity 3a SkimmingFocus attention on the picture.Ask students to describe it. Help students say that the standing man is called Robinson Crusoe. He is on island. He likes with tools and uses guns to protect himself. The other man was saved by Robinson Crusoe from cannibals.Say, the following passage is from the book, and you need to read it quickly with the questions in the box. Give students 2 minutes to read the passage.Invite two students to answer the two questions.①.What does Robinson Crusoe wait for? ②.why does Robinson Crusoe call the man Friday?Check the students’ answers.2.Activity 3b ScanningLead students to read the instructions and tips in to know what to do and how to do it. Give them 3 minutes to read the passage and find out the correct words that have these meanings.Invite a student to present his/her words to check the answers.3.Activity 3c Intensive readingSay, the following sentences are some information about the passage. But there are mistakes in them. Have a try to find out the mistakes and correct them.Give them enough time to read the passage carefully.Check their answers with their group mates.4.Difficulties: ① arrive on ② cut down ③ give up④ see sb.
