Thinking Quality To enhance reading effect by self-reading, cooperative learning and group work.    1. Key points: Understand the text and use different tips to find information.Difficult points: Use your own words to summarize the main idea of the text. 
    Situational approach, heuristic approach, gaming approach and task-based approach.  Autonomous Learning , Jigsaw Learning and Cooperative Learning.  PPT, some tip cards and a blackboard.  Step1: Lead-in: Greeting and warming-up  1.Get students to watch a videoTake me home, country roads before class.2. Greeting and self-introduction.(设计意图:通过课前播放小视频和自我介绍,活跃课堂气氛并且拉近与学生的距离。在与学生互动谈论音乐的过程中,引出了本课话题。)Step2:Prereading Get students to look at the title of the passage "A country music changed her life forever" and predict what the passage will tell us. Then read the passage quickly to match the main idea of each paragraph.(通过看标题对文章的大意有一个基本的判断。继而快速扫读每段的主题句,获取每段的段落大意。同时引出两种阅读技巧)Step3:Whilereading   Get students to read paragraph one  and fill in the blanks. Sarah was a _______.She is from ________.She used to _______.She heard ________ on radio while studying abroad. Get students to read paragraph two to find the information of American country music and finish the Country Music Sheet.Kind From Home Remind us  Get students to read paragraph 3 and answer three questions1.What is Sarah's dream?2.Did she know much about the place?3.What does she hope to do?(设计意图:利用不同的学习任务让学生感知熟悉使用阅读策略并从中提取关键信息解决问题,为后面的文章概述做好了铺垫。)Step4:Afterreadingjigsaw work)Get students to work in groups and make a summaryWrite down their summary on the paper.Invite some of the group leaders to come to the front and read the summary.Introduce mind-map tip that is good for our reading and writing.(设计意图:通过小组分配任务的合作形式,让学生学会如何在阅读过程中借助关键信息对文本进行归纳和概述,掌握新出现的总结策略。同样引出的Mind-map技巧,让学生从阅读的输入过渡到笔头的输出,锻炼了学生的语言综合运用能力。)Step5: Guessing game Get students to guess other kinds of music and have a PK through groups.Get students to talk about what kinds of music they like and the reasons.(设计意图:经过之前阅读训练的学习,学生稍显疲惫。通过游戏的设计,可以让学生放松心情,也活跃了课堂气氛。)Step6: Moral educationGet students to understand the importance of music and enjoy life.(设计意图:让学生领略到音乐的在生活中的重要性,本课得以情感升华。)Step7: HomeworkUse mind-map to write an article about your favorite singer.Ss must do it.Learn to sing a country music song.Ss may do it.(设计意图:分层次进行作业布置。让所有学生在课后自主学习去了解更多的音乐及歌手,练习了本课的写作技巧mind-map;也让部分学有余力的学生通过学唱经典的乡村音乐感受英语歌曲的魅力,增加学生的文化积累。)      A Country Music Song Changed Her Life ForeverUnit 8 Section B 2a-2eCountry Music…….                                                            Group1 Group2  Group3 Group4
