As a successful American businessman and inspiring speaker,Chris Gardner used to struggle with homelessness while raising a son. His autobiography(自传), The Pursuit(追寻)of Happyness, was a bestseller that has been translated into over 40 languages. This book was also made into a movie of the same name in 2006,which has won many awards.
In this movie Chris Gardner, a struggling salesman, is running short of money but is full of ambition(雄心). The film set in San Francisco, Gardner is stuck in a dead-end job. He is an intelligent, successful workman by day,and a helpless father living in a train station at night.
You will be emotionally tired as you see this hard-working, loving father become more and more hopeless. To make matters worse, he is left to raise his five-year-old son alone after Christopher’s mother leaves them to live in New York. All he wants to do is protect his son, but being a single father is difficult, and being broke only makes it worse. The lines are excellent; but even without dialogue, the actor’s expressions in the movie capture the panic of a father, who is afraid of failing and of losing his son.
Throughout the movie, you are hoping Gardner will succeed, and his positive attitude in the face of such difficulties is truly inspiring. Even though the movie is based on a true story, some critics(评论员)have said that The Pursuit of Happyness does not reflect reality because Gardner never seems to tire or lose hope in his dream to be successful even when he is homeless. Despite this criticism, the ending leaves you with a warm feeling and the actor does an excellent job of making us believe that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
24. What do we know about Chris Gardner from the first paragraph?
A. He is a full-time writer.
B. He acted in the adapted movie.
C. He is an influential figure.
D. He won many awards for his book.

C. Hopeless but romantic. D. Eventful but interesting.
26. The last paragraph focuses on the ______ of the movie.
A. final ending B. comments
C. memorable scenes D. main plot
27. What message docs the movie mainly to get across to the viewers?
A. Happiness leads to success.
B. Everyone has the right to seek happiness.
C. Family is the warmth during cold moments.
D. Determination promises happiness.
C
The sun rises over the Cordillera mountain ranges in the Philippines, lighting up the beautiful terraced rice fields. Rows of terraces(梯田)wrap around the mountainsides from the ground to the very mountaintops, as far as the eye can see. Young people are influenced by modern media and no longer want to work such long hours. Can these changes be managed so that the terraces continue to produce rice, and remain a beautiful part of our world heritage?Jimmy Padchanan, an official of the village of Mayoyao, said in an interview, “We are combining the old societies with the new, while maintaining many of our values.” He and the local people were confident that they would keep the best of the new and the strength of the past to protect the terraces, which are deseribed as “a living cultural landscape of breathtaking beauty”.

The Food Trainer (FoodT app) trains people to tap on images of healthy foods but to stop when they see unhealthy snacks. The new study,by the universities of Exeter and Helsinki, found that playing the game about once a day for a month led to an average one-point reduction of junk food consumption(消费).
Generally, people who used the app more also reported great changes in their food intake. One app user wrote, “Really useful. I used to eat junk food two to four times a week and I have reduced this to once a week after using the app regularly for a month. My desire for junk food has been reduced greatly and I no longer eat in the evening mindlessly.”
The app regularly asks questions about how often users eat certain foods, along with other information such as their age and weight. Then the study used FoodT usage data and found that using the app regularly was connected with big changes in eating habits.
The app is free and it only takes about four minutes per day, so it’s something people can do not just at home but at work and elsewhere. “From our results it seems important that you do the training at regular times and don’t just stop. Therefore, keep it interesting, so you won’t get bored with it. Personalize the app as much as possible and pick the foods that you find really hard to resist(抗拒),” said Natalia Lawrence, a professor of the University of Exeter.
The researchers stress that their findings should be further proved, because there was no comparison group and other factors (such as the possibility that people who did more training were also more motivated(有动力的)to lose weight).
32. What is the purpose of FoodT app?
A. To help people lose weight.
B. To explain the harm of junk food.
C. To offer some fun games to players.
D. To improve people’s eating habits.
33. How did the researchers carry out the study?
A. By studying some data.
B. By making an experiment.
C. By referring to users’ comments.
D. By introducing the app’s technology.
34. What is required to ensure the effectiveness of the app?
A. Paying for the app.
B. Using the app regularly.
C. Updating the app quite often.
D. Having enough memory space.
35. How do the researchers feel about their findings?
A. A bit dissatisfied.
B. Quite confident.
C. Perfectly content.
D. Rather disappointed.

When I was a little girl, I knew that I had a gift for music. Playing was my love. While most kids were outside in the burning summer sun, playing childish games, I was happy to sit in the cool indoors for hours practicing my beloved piano. When I played, I felt like I was in a whole new world where I was free and easy. All I had to worry about was my music. Playing was never boring for me.
I had spent months practicing and the big day finally came. It was the day of the Alberta Music Competition. The music hall was packed with excited audience. I sat in the first row with my mother seated beside me. As the fellow competitors were playing. I couldn’t keep my mind on their music. I was just memorizing the notes and practising the fingerings. I had known my music was like the back of my hand. But this time, to my great surprise, I found my fingers completely out of my control. They kept shaking. I nearly burst into tears. Seeing this, mom held my hands tightly in hers. She even breathed into them as if she wanted to warm them up. Then she whispered to my ear, “Sweetie, take it easy. Just listen and enjoy the music.”
I looked up and turned my attention to the competitor in the center of the stage for the first time. A thin and tall boy was sitting at the beautiful red piano. He looked calm and confident. His fingertips danced on the keyboard. The soft and gentle sound of the piano flew in the air. For a moment, I totally forgot my nervousness.

第一节(满分15分)
Good afternoon, everyone! I'm glad to share with you how I learn English in a fun way.
I think the easiest way is to download some apps onto the phone. These apps can help us build vocabulary, improve our listening, speaking or writing. More importantly, they provide many entertaining ways for us to study English, such as watching videos, playing games or dubbing.
Besides, finding pen pals is a good option. We can not only practice English but also have a better knowledge of the cultures of foreign countries.
Hopefully, my ideas can make your learning fun and effective.
Thank you for your listening.
第二节(满分25分)
Then I was announced to play next and I felt anxious again. It seemed that thousands of butterflies were really flying in my stomach. My mother gave me a pat on the back and said softly, “Just enjoy it, honey!” I found encouragement and confidence in her eyes. I got up, climbed up the stage steps and bowed to the audience. I tried my best to keep calm. I slowly placed my hands on the keyboard, took a deep breath and started to play. To my delight, everything seemed unbelievably smooth.
Suddenly my fingers slipped and I hit a wrong note. I could clearly feel the disappointment from the crowd’s deep sigh. “Just enjoy it!” Mum’s words echoed in my ears. I continued playing as if nothing had happened. Soon I found myself absorbed in the familiar music world again. Eventually, when I finished my last note, the crowd all stood up with applause and cheering, which was totally out of my expectation. Though I didn’t win the champion, I knew I had learned something more valuable. I realized that learning to enjoy music was more important than the competition itself.
听力文本:
Text 1
M: My family is having a barbecue tomorrow. Would you like to come? All you have to bring is a side dish. We're going to have hamburgers and hot dogs, and we'll play music and games.
W: That sounds great! I love barbecues. I'll bring some potato salad.
Text 2
M: Let’s meet at 4:40.
W: Well. Could we make it 5:20?
M: That’s a bit late for me. I could manage 10 past.
W: OK. See you then.
Text 3
W: Do people drive on the right in England?
M: No. You mustn’t drive on the right there.
Text4
W: Did you get the injury while playing football, Jim?
M: Yes. One of the boys kicked my foot instead of the ball.
W: The best thing for you to do is to rest your leg for 48 hours.
M: When can I go back to school?
W: You can go back in 4 days, but you’ll need to avoid sports for a month.
Text 5
W: Wow, it is a special place to live. It is a nice city. There are only six thousand residents.
M: It is surrounded by waters and mountains, isn’t it?
W: Yeah. There is a broad river that runs through the downtown. You can go boating in this river.
Text 6
W: Grandma’s birthday is coming but I still have no idea what to buy for her.
M: How about a scarf? You know it is cold in winter. She could use it.
W: That is what I bought her last year.
M: Then how about an iPad, which she can use to talk with you.
W: It would be a good idea if I bought a gift for you. But Grandma is not a fan of high-tech stuff. I don’t think she would like it. Besides, I can’t afford it.
M: Then you got me here. I think we had better turn to Uncle Bob for some advice.
W: OK. Do you have his number?
Text 7
M: Today our topic is Animals in Danger. We have Jenny Black from WWF with us. Jenny, what do you think of the way people treat animals?
W: We’re often cruel to animals. In fact, there are very few animals on our earth which are not in danger.
M: Really? Things are that bad.
W: Yes. We all know how polluted our earth has become. Well, if pollution is affecting our air and water, then all the animals are suffering. Cutting down trees to grow crops or build houses is another major reason.
M: So what do you think we can do about it?
W: One important thing we can all do is to be more careful about the products we buy when we are abroad. Many countries are still selling skin coats and that kind of thing. If we stop buying these products, they will have to stop killing animals to produce them.
M: That's right. Well, is there anything we can do in our own neighborhoods?
W: First, we can try to clean up our environment. Then if you notice anyone breaking environmental laws, you must report them to the police. Also, if there is a zoo in your area, you can make sure that the animals are being well looked after.
M: Yeah. We should try to recreate the natural conditions as much as possible in the zoos.
W: That’s true.
Text 8
M: Well, here we are. This is the hall. As you can see, there is a big mirror on the wall and a telephone over there too.
W: Is the telephone working?
M: Oh yes. You only pay for the calls you make. Now through here to the left. This is the living room. There’s a television and.......
W: Look! What a big sofa!
M: Oh, yes. It’s new, too. And if you go through that door in front of you, that’s the dining room with a nice big table and six chairs. And it has two windows, so there’s lots of light. On the left is the bathroom. It’s a bit small. But the shower and the toilet are both new. And opposite the bathroom, just here, we have the kitchen.
W: Oh, yes! This is lovely.
Text 9
M: The summer holiday is coming. I am looking forward to it.
W: It will be really wonderful.
M: Yes, I can’t wait.
W: Do you have any plans for the holiday?
M: I’m thinking of learning diving. What about you?
W: That sounds interesting, but which center are you planning to go to? I don’t know of any.
M: There is a diving school set up by someone who used to be a student at our school. It’s somewhere in New Jersey.
W: I hear that diving classes are expensive.
M: Yes, but I’ve saved some money for this.
W: Then you go ahead. I don’t think I can afford it. I may just stay at home, getting fatter and fatter.
M: Do go out, or you will not recognize yourself. You have already gained a lot of weight.
W: Maybe you are right.
Text 10
Good morning, everyone. This is Harry Green with What to Do Today on the air. It's quite a warm and sunny Saturday. Now, if you’ve got nothing to do today, why not go to East Mountain in the city and get digging? That’s the message from Sussex Middle School. It is organizing a tree-planting activity in East Mountain.
Sussex Middle School is a member of the organization of Helping Blind Children. It is raising money for poor blind children in Asia by planting trees. A famous computer company agrees to give $30 for each tree to be planted in the city. Sussex Middle School is planning to plant 1,500 trees this weekend. Students and their parents are hoping to plant a half today. They are looking for volunteers to come along and help. Tree-planting experience is not necessary as there will be experts to give directions. Thick gloves will be provided to protect your hands when you are doing the digging. There’re also hats provided. And please do bring basic tools with you to dig holes and water trees. Everyone is welcome to come along anytime from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend. So it could be really a nice day out for all the families.
This is What to Do Today. Thanks for your listening. Enjoy your day.
