Sixteen years ag I learned this lessn in the back f a New Yrk City taxi. Here's what happened, I gt int a taxi, and we tk ff fr Grand Central Statin. We were driving in the right lane when, all f a sudden, a black car jump ut f a parking space right in frnt f us. My taxi driver had t brake (刹车) immediately, and missed the ther car's back end by just inches!
The driver f the black car, wh almst caused a big accident, started yelling bad wrds at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was friendly. S, I said, "Why did yu just d that? This guy almst destryed yur car and sent us t the hspital!" And this is when my taxi driver tld me what I nw call, "The Law f the Garbage Truck."
Many peple are like garbage trucks. They run arund full f garbage, full f frustratin, full f anger, and full f disappintment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place t dump it. And if yu let them, they'll dump it n yu. When smene wants t dump n yu, dn't take it persnally. Yu just smile, wave, wish them well, and mve n. Yu'll be happy yu did.
Started thinking, hw ften d I let Garbage Trucks run right ver me? And hw ften d I take their garbage and spread it t ther peple at wrk, at hme, n the streets? It was that day I said, "I'm nt ging t d that anymre."
Gd leaders knw they have t be ready fr their next meeting. Gd parents knw they have t welcme their children hme frm schl with hugs and kisses. His friend agreed with him and said, "The stck is gd because yu can make tns f mney and nly wrk fr a shrt time."
I think they were indulging (沉溺) in the wildest fantasy. Many peple these days dn't realize that when things seem t happen immediately, it is nly because a lt f effrt, determinatin and time have gne int them and it isn't due t sme miraculus (不可思议的) event. The easier it lks, the mre hurs g int it. There is n excuse fr laziness.
Lking at the tw yung men, all f a sudden I was having a flashback f being ten years ld and watching the televisin shw Fame.
