Module 9 Unit 1 Are you sad?

【教材分析】

本模块教学主题为“feelings”，第一单元教学主题为“Are you sad?”本节课学生将学习部分表达感觉的词以及用“What’s the matter? Are you happy/ sad/ bored/ angry?”来询问别人的感受及其回答。

【学情分析】

本课的教学对象是五年级学生。通过四年的英语学习，他们的听说读写能力已经初步形成，已掌握了丰富的英语知识。因此，在教授新语言点时，要尽可能多地联系实际生活，创造生活化的语言环境，让学生在语境中更好地理解课文，同时教师在课堂上要把学习的主动权还给学生，要多创造机会让学生通过小组合作、自主发现等多种方法去获得知识；同时注重在教学过程中引导学生通过感悟，参与，讨论，实践等教学活动去探究新知，从而提高学生的英语语言综合运用能力。 

【教学目标】

（1）语言知识目标：  

单词: 四会单词happy，bored, sad, angry, nothing

          三会单词present, Christmas，matter, chess, thinking, secret

 句型 :  Are you …?  Yes, I am.  No, I’m not. 

      What’s the matter?  Nothing.

（2）语言技能目标：通过本课的学习，能够询问并表述某人(包括自己）的感受。

（3）情感态度目标：培养学生关心帮助他人的品质 ，勇于表达自己内心的感受，有积极乐观的生活态度 ，培养学生的自信心和合作精神以及用英语沟通交流的能力。让学生感受到与别人的合作、分享就是一种快乐。

【教学重难点】

     （1）认读、记忆和运用有关感觉的词汇。

 （2）熟练阅读课文，理解、回答问题。

     （3）在自主创设的生活场景中运用所学句型练习对话。

【教学准备】

 课件，课本CD-ROM，单词卡和表情卡。

【教学过程】

Step 1: Warming up

      1. Greeting

      2. Enjoy a song-If you are happy. First, let’s enjoy a song. If you are happy.     You can do the actions as the videos.

【设计意图】

设计这首歌作为热身活动的首选，主要目的一方面利用优美的旋律吸引学生的注意力，激发他们的兴趣 ；另一方面这首歌曲包含了这节课要学的很重要的几个单词，起到了寓教于乐的作用。 

 Step 2: Lead-in

  T: I bring you a surprise present. (卡片教授surprise, present)

  T: Are you happy? (黑板贴笑脸卡片）

  Ss: Yes, I am. (板书）

  T: Can you guess what’s in it? (找一个同学打开盒子发现什么都没有,接着卡片教授nothing 引导学生理解单词

  What’s in my left hand? A chalk.

   What’s in my right hand？Nothing.）

 T: So are you sad? (出示哭脸并贴黑板）Today let's learn M9U1 Are you sad?

（引出本课话题）

    T：Don’t be sad. The surprise present is in another box. But it’s a secret. (出示卡片教授单词）If you try hard in class, at last I'll give you this surprise present.

    T: So let’s have a PK between Team 1 and Team 2

        Team 1, go go go     Team 2 go go go

Step 3：Presentation

T: Let’s read these words together. (surprise, present, nothing, secret)

    T: You did a wonderful job! Are you happy? 

Ss: Yes, I am.

T: I’m happy, too. Are you sad? 

T: You should say：“No, I’m not.”(板书)

T: Can you guess what about this card? (出示无聊的卡片并教授，

        接着以同样的方式 教授angry)

 Let’s play a game:

 1.) Make faces.

T: I say the words, you make faces as quickly as you can.

T: Very good！Who wants to come here? This time you say the words, they make faces. Let’s see who the best actor is.

You are good actors. Can you remember all the word? Let me check you. Which apple is falling down?

【设计意图】巩固操练感受单词，通过小游戏来激发孩子们的兴趣，为学习新课文做好铺垫

  3. Text.

You learned the words very well. Congratulations. Are you happy？What about our friend Lingling?

1.)整体感知课文。

T：Let’s watch and find:

  (1) Is Lingling sad?

  (2) Is she bored?

  (3) Is she angry?

 2.)带着问题自己读课文：Lingling is not sad, not bored, not angry, so

What’s the matter with her?

学生回答 ：Nothing. She's thinking.

What’s Lingling thinking about?

    She is going to make Amy a surprise present for Christmas.

 3.) Repeat and try to imitate.

 4.) Read the text in pairs.

 5.)  Let’s chant together:   

    Sad, sad, are you sad?

    No, No, I’m not sad.

    Bored, bored, are you bored?

    No, No, I’m not bored.

    Angry, angry, are you angry?

    No, No, I’m not angry.

    Matter, matter, what’s the matter?

    Nothing, nothing, I am thinking.

【设计意图】通过让学生听录音回答问题，自己读课文回答深层问题来进一步理解课文内涵，通过跟读模仿提高自己的语音语调，设计小chant ,制造愉悦的气氛，让学生在快乐中学英语。

  6.) Do you have any questions? Underline what you can’t understand quickly.

Step 4：Practice and extension

  1. You learned the text very well, let’s do a guessing game. （出示遮盖部分的图片用句型Is she/he…? 问答）

  2.  拓展练习

Love club: 出示情景，自编对话

（When your friend failed in the exam, argued with friends, lost pen..., what will you do?)

E.g.: A: Hello, Xiaogang.

B: Hi, Xiaojie.

A: What's the matter? Are you angry?

B: No, I'm not.

A: Are you sad?

B: Yes, I am.

A: Why?

B: Because my new toy is broken.

A: Don't worry. /It doesn’t matter. You can play with my toys. Here you are.

B: Thank you. I'm happy now. (划横线部分可以用其他的词代替)

【设计意图】为学生提供拓展和运用所学语言的机会。通过这一活动，使学生能运用所学语言在真实场景中进行问答对话。并在小组合作共同完成任务的过程中，不断激发并强化学生的学习兴趣，培养其积极参与、乐于与他人合作的精神。

Step 5：

幻灯片出示一些图片和背景音乐（爱的奉献）In this world，many people need help .Please help them if you can .Care others, help others .They will be happy, and we will be happy too.

More love, more happiness!

Step 6：Summary

T: This class we’ve learned (some words: happy, sad, angry, bored, nothing and some sentences: What’s the matter? Are you …? Yes, I am. No, I’m not.)

Let’s see how many happy faces you have got. Team …is the winner. Congratulations! Let’s ask them: Are you happy?

 Wish you happy every day.

Step 7：Homework 

1、Listen and read the text.                

2、Don’t forget the secret of happiness. Try to know your parents’ and your friends’ feelings. Share their happiness and sadness.

3、write a letter to a friend you miss and ask about his feelings.
