展开Kipper and the Giant绘本教学设计
一、教学目标
(一)知识目标
1、能听懂、会读、会说单词tiny、giant、cross、frightened、mend、stone、bandage等。
2、能理解故事情节,并能表演故事,以英语日记的形式将故事大概写下来。
(二)能力目标
1、能用一般过去时讨论、表演和书写故事情节。
2、能通过图片和上下文猜测词义和推断故事情节走向,发散思维,提升学习能力,提高思维品质。
(三)情意目标
1、 能感悟到为人善良友好的重要性,懂得“善人者人亦善之”的道理。
2、 能体会英语绘本阅读的乐趣,增强英语学习的兴趣。
二、教学重难点
(一)教学重点
1、能理解故事情节,并能表演故事,以英语日记的形式将故事大概写下来。
2、能通过图片和上下文猜测词义和推断故事情节走向,发散思维,提升学习能力,提高思维品质。

1、 能听懂、会读、会说单词tiny、giant、cross、frightened、mend、stone、bandage等。
2、 能用一般过去时讨论、表演和书写故事情节。
三、教学用具
PPT课件、绘本、练习纸(剧本)、实物道具(狼牙棒、钥匙、房子模型、石头模型、行李箱、免税店袋子和食物、玩偶、绷带等)。
四、教学过程
Step1.Pre-reading
1、 Free talk
What do you usually do at weekends?
Do you like reading stories?
What stories do you know?
Step2. While-reading
1、揭题Kipper and the Giant,分别出示两人的图片
2、Guess: What does the giant like?(根据封面猜测giant的爱好)
eg. He likes drinking./getting angry…
3、Guess: The story is about..猜测绘本主要内容
4、出示最后一幅图片教学单词 adventure
The story is about an adventure.
5、快速浏览所有图片,回答问题 Whose adventure? Kipper’s adventure
6、将Kipper’s adventure分为三部分,before the adventure,in the adventure,after the adventure
1) before the adventure
2) What was kipper doing? He was watching a program.(教学program) 介绍节目名the angry giant
3) 教师复述Pic1-6情节,其间介绍cross在文中的含义(学生自己体会,做选择题:穿过/生气的),并请个别同学来演一演生气的巨人(stamp his feet)并说“I’m a giant. I’m cross now.”教师引导其他学生说“Oh no!He’s cross again. He’s always cross.”
4) Pick up the magic key and go into the living room

Where was kipper? How did he feel?教学frightened=afraid Did Kipper meet the giant? Why? 学习门上挂牌的内容。
3、Pic7-8:
1) 课件出示路标:Look, there was a signpost. (学习signpost)What did it say? (To the left… To the right…)Which way did Kipper go? Why?
4、Pic9-12:
1) How did the people in the village feel? Did the villagers like Kipper? 引导学生带着正确的情绪读出Pic9-10中村民的台词。
2) The villagers threw things at Kipper. How did Kipper feel? 引导学生带着正确的情绪读出Pic11-12中Kipper的台词。
3) Let’s act 表演此段
5、Pic13-17:
1) 出示Pic17。Look at this picture. How are the villagers and Kipper now? The villagers are singing and dancing for Kipper. They are happy. 发现横幅上的内容“Good for Kipper!”接着提问为什么会出现这样的转变?
2) Read Pic13-16 and find the reason. 找到Kipper帮助村民的事:mend the houses (通过图片和put back the broken roofs学习mend)、pick up big stones。
3) Kipper was kind and helpful. The villagers were kind and friendly. They became friends. They are happy. 引导学生带着正确的情绪读出村民的台词。
6、Pic18-19:
1) 课件播放巨人脚步声音效:The giant came back from holiday! The giant was so angry. He shouted and ran towards the village. Then “Crash!” (摔倒音效) He fell over the stone! And he yelled…?讨论:What would you do if you were Kipper? Would you help him? How would you help him?
7、Pic20-21:
1) Did Kipper help the giant? How did he help him? 找到pick up the things和put a bandage around his head. 根据图片理解学习bandage和put a bandage round his head,请同学们动作示范并说“Let me put a bandage round your head.”
2) What else did Kipper do to the giant? 看图21回答:He talked to the giant. What did he say to the giant? Did the giant listen to Kipper? How were the villagers? Kipper helped the villagers again!
8、Pic22:
1) The giant was also kind and helpful now. The villagers were happy. They were friendly to the giant too. They had a party together. They were all friends.
2) Look, the giant is sharing his things with the villagers. What would he say? What would the villagers say?

Step3.After-reading
1、after the adventure
Pic23-24:课件出现钥匙发光特效。The magic key glowed again. It was time to say goodbye. Kipper was back home. Look, what was in his hand? A present from the giant! Kipper and the giant were really good friends now. 学生发散思维填空:What a/an _________ adventure!
1、 Know more about the picture books about Kipper.
2、 Let’s think: Kipper wants to write a diary about his adventure. Do you have any good suggestions? Please help him.
Step4.Assigning homework
1、Help Kipper write a diary about his adventure
2、Tell others about the adventure of Kipper after class.
3、Read more stories about Kipper.
