| Step1 Warm up Ask ss to complete an application Step2 Presentation 1. Present how to write a letter in English Address: small place first then bigger place the biggest place at last Step3 Listening and reading 1. Listen to the tape and answer some questions 1) Which society does Amy want to join? 2) What subject is her favorite ? 3) Why does she join the society? 4) When is her free time? 5) How can we get in touch with her? 2. Read the application letter. Step4 Production 1. Collect some useful information for the students to write: Why did she write the letter? Something about herself, school and grade Why would she like to join the society? If the application is successful..! 2. Ask the students to write their own application letter according to their application forms. Why do you write the letter? Something about yourself Why would you like to join the club? If the application is successful… 3. Ask some able students to read their letters and let other students talk about them Step5 Do some exercises Homework 1. Rewrite the letter carefully after class, and then put them up on the back wall. 2. Collect all the useful phrases in this unit. 3. Go over the new words in this unit |
