Get the students t read the wrds and then direct their attentin t the prefix ‘ un- ’.
3 Presentatin
Say: With sme adjectives, we can change the meaning by adding a prefix. Adding the prefixes “dis”, “im” “in” r “un” t an adjective will express the ppsite meaning f the wrd. These prefixes mean “nt” r “the ppsite f”
e.g. Trainers are cmfrtable t wear. Small shes are uncmfrtable.
If smene shws gd manners t thers, he is a plite persn.
If smene des nt shw gd manners t thers, he is implite.
Match the adjectives n the left with their ppsite n the right.( Part A)
Tell the students that ‘un-’ is nt the nly prefix. There are mre prefixes like this. Invite the students t pen their bk and ask them t match the wrds n the left with their ppsites n the right.
