A group of elephants have recently traveled more than 500 kilometers from the forests of Xishuangbanna. They are still moving toward the north, and nobody knows when and where they are going to stop or take a turn.
The group were firstly made up of 16 elepants. One baby elephant was born during the journey. When they got to Yuanjing two of these animals drank some alcohol (酒) at a villager’s house and became drunk. They were later reported to have returned to Pu’er, leaving the rest of elephants to continue their journey north.
Wild Asian elephants can walk up to 40 kilometers a day, and an adult eats 150 to 200 kilograms of food each day. They often stay in certain areas, where the temperature is around 30℃. It’s quite uncommon to see them travel such a long way. Then why did this group do so? Some believe a lack of food is the main reason. The Asian elephant population in Yunnan has risen from 170 in the 1970s to 300, so their original home might not have enough food for them. Another possibility is that the group have lost their way because their leader is inexperienced.
The wild elephants may be dangerous to human lives and property (财产). But as a protected animal, the same as the panda, there are only a couple of ways we can take to drive them back to their home. People have fed them tons of food to guide them away from towns and cities. Seventy-six police cars and trucks and nine drones (无人机) have been used to watch the elephants. Scientists also suggest that we should use harmless fences (栅栏) to guide them on their way home.
( ) 26. What is the main purpose of Paragraph 1?

( ) 27. So far, there are still elephants in the group.

A. They enjoy warm weather B. It’s normal for them to travel for away from their home.
C. An adult Asian elephant needs to eat 150 to 200 kilograms of food each month.
( ) 29. In the last paragraph, we can know the facts EXCEPT .
A. the wild Asian elephants are as treasurable as pandas
B. people can do nothing about elephants’ migration (迁移) now
C. people are trying to prevent elephants from walking into the towns and cities.
