    Period 2 (Section A 3a-4c)设计说明  用英语讲述《西游记》和《灰姑娘》的故事,在讲故事的过程中教授新单词。学生对这两个故事耳熟能详,所以学生可以根据已有知识理解英语故事,学会新单词。3a中的故事是关于孩子们喜欢的神话英雄——孙悟空的。 通过略读、精读来解决所设问题,并根据所设问题复述短文,达到掌握学习目标的目的。在Grammar Focus环节,通过复习《愚公移山》的故事,引导学生合理使用once upon a time,unless,as soon as,so...that,使句子连贯,句意通顺,情节紧凑。活动4a通过呈现童话故事《灰姑娘》的情节,让学生在新的语境中感悟学习目标的使用,进一步明确其实用意义。活动4b是一个有关孙悟空的故事梗概,要求学生明确叙述故事的时态,用所给动词的正确形式填空,熟悉故事讲述的范例。可以列出部分短语,引导学生复述孙悟空的故事。活动4c旨在让学生尝试讲故事,为了降低难度,可以采用小组合作的形式,共同完成一个故事。教学目标  1. 知识目标  (1)掌握单词和短语:object,hide,tail,magic,stick,excite,Western,stepsister,prince,fit,couple,smile,marry; turn...into,once upon a time,fall in love,get married。  (2)掌握句型:①But unless he can hide his tail,he cannot turn himself into a man. ②Sometimes he can make the stick so small that he can keep it in his ear. ③And as soon as the TV program came out more than 30 years ago,Western children became interested in reading this story... ④The new couple were so happy that they couldn’t stop smiling when they got married.   (3)掌握语法:学会使用unless引导的条件状语从句,as soon as 引导的时间状语从句,so...that结构中,that引导的结果状语从句。  2. 能力目标  (1)能用as soon as,unless,so...that等结构来讲述Monkey King的故事。  (2)掌握unless,as soon as,so...that等连词的用法。  3. 情感目标  通过本课的学习,培养学生的正义感与善良之心,更要有面对困难毫无畏惧的精神。重点难点  1. 重点:  (1)掌握本课时单词、短语和句型。  (2)能用自己的语言讲述《西游记》相关人物及故事。  (3)掌握本单元语法。  2. 难点:  (1)能用自己的语言讲述《西游记》相关人物及故事。  (2)学会使用unless引导的条件状语从句,as soon as 引导的时间状语从句,so...that结构中,that引导的结果状语从句。教学准备  多媒体课件、录音机、磁带。教学过程  Step 1 Leading in  Play the song“Hou Ge”. After it,ask students:  (1)Who sings the song? (Zhang Weijin)  (2)Do you like the song? Who can sing?   T:I hope everyone will be Hou Ge,especially in your study. I believe in all of you. You are great.   Step 2 Presentation  1. Teach the new words by telling something about Sun Wukong and Cinderella:object,hide,tail,magic,stick,excite,Western,stepsister,prince,fit,couple,smile,marry;phrases:turn...into,once upon a time,fall in love,get married.(板书新单词、短语)  For example:  T:Look at the picture. Who’s he?   Ss:Sun Wukong.   T:Yes. We can also call him the Monkey King. He can turn himself into different animals and objects. But he can’t turn himself into a man unless he can hide his tail. Sun Wukong uses a magic stick to fight bad people.   When I was young,Sun Wukong excited me a lot. Now, Western children are interested in reading this story because the clever Monkey King keeps fighting to help the weak and never gives up.   2. Practice reading the new words.   3. Complete the words according to the Chinese meanings.   (1)西方国家的;(尤指)欧美的;西方的:Weste r n  (2)继姐(妹):s t e psister   (3)王子:pri nce   (4)(尤指)夫妻;两人;两件事物:co uple   (5)笑;微笑:sm ile   (6)结婚:mar ry  4. Choose the right words according to the Chinese meanings.   (1)物体;物品:□subject object  (2)隐藏;隐蔽:□high hide  (3)使激动;使兴奋:□exciting excite  (4)适合;合身:fit □fat  5. Match the phrases with the Chinese meanings.     Step 3 Reading   1. Work on 3a.   (1)Read the questions in the box,and make sure students can understand all the questions. Then ask them to read the passage and find out the answers to the questions.   (2)Check the answers.   Answers:1. Journey to the West. 2. The Monkey King,Sun Wukong. 3. He can change his shape and size,but he cannot turn himself into a man unless he can hide his tail. He is clever,and never gives up fighting to help the weak.   2. Work on 3b.   Read the passage more carefully again,and complete the following tasks. Explain each paragraph after students finish each task.   Paragraph 1:  Question:When were pupils in England able to watch a new program called Monkey?  Answer:In November 1979.   Paragraph 2:  Read the second paragraph and complete the chart about the Monkey King.   Answers:What he can do:He can make 72 changes to his shape and size,turning himself into different animals and objects. He makes his magic stick so small that he can keep it in his ear or he makes his magic stick big and long.   What he cannot do:He can’t turn himself into a man unless he can hide his tail.   Paragraph 3:  Question:Why are children interested in reading the story?   Answer:Because the clever Monkey King keeps fighting to help the weak and never gives up.   3. Work on 3c.   (1)Let students scan the sentences and predict the answers.   (2)Students read the passage again and complete the sentences.   (3)Check the answers. Then ask them to read and retell the passage according to the tasks above.   In November 1979,pupils in England were able to watch a new TV program called Monkey. Most of them were hearing this story for the first time. However,this story is not new to Chinese children. The Monkey King or Sun Wukong is the main character in the traditional Chinese book Journey to the West.   The Monkey King is not just any normal monkey. In fact,he sometimes does not even look like a monkey! This is because he can make 72 changes to his shape and size,turning himself into different animals and objects. But unless he can hide his tail,he cannot turn himself into a man. To fight bad people,the Monkey King uses a magic stick. Sometimes he can make the stick so small that he can keep it in his ear. At other times,he is able to make it big and long.   The Monkey King has excited the children of China for many years. And as soon as the TV program came out more than 30 years ago,Western children became interested in reading this story because the clever Monkey King keeps fighting to help the weak and never gives up.   Step 4 Grammar Focus  1. Tell the story of an old man trying to move the mountains.   T:Do you still remember the story we learned yesterday? Let’s retell the story,OK?   Ss:OK.   S1:Once upon a time,there was a very old man...   S2:He wanted to move the mountains.   S3:...   The teacher can offer language support,such as:Once upon a time,there was...,so...that,because,as soon as,unless...   2. Read the sentences in Grammar Focus. Summarize the use of unless,as soon as,so... that.   (1)unless连词,引导条件状语从句,意为“除非……;如果不……”,通常可与if...not互换。unless引导的条件状语从句中的谓语动词常用一般现在时代替一般将来时,主要用于下列情况:  ①主句为肯定句  You will miss the bus unless you hurry up.   你要是不快点就会错过这辆公共汽车。  ②主句为否定句  I won’t go to the party unless he invites me.   如果他不邀请我,我就不会去参加聚会。  (2)as soon as引导时间状语从句,意为“一……就……”。含有as soon as 引导的时间状语从句的复合句时态搭配:  (3)so...that意为“如此……以至于……”,that引导结果状语从句,其句型为:主语+谓语+ so+ adj./adv. + that从句。  The boy is so young that he can’t go to school.(= The boy is too young to go to school. = The boy isn’t old enough to go to school. )  这个男孩太小了以至于还不能去上学。  Tony runs so fast that I can’t catch up with him.   托尼跑得太快了,我追不上他。  Step 5 Practice  1. Work on 4a.   (1)Students scan the sentences and answer the question:Which story are the sentences about? They can answer in Chinese,and then the teacher teaches the students the English name of the story.   (2)Students fill in the blanks individually.   (3)Check the answers. Ask students to read and translate the sentences one by one.   Answers:1. As soon as 2. so,that 3. unless 4. As soon as 5. unless 6. so,that  2. Work on 4b.   (1)Let students scan the passage. Make sure they know what to do.   (2)Students fill in the blanks individually.   (3)Check the answers.   Answers:helps;has;uses;make;sees;turn;love  (4)Show these phrases on the screen:help weak people,have a magic stick,use it to fight bad people,make the stick big or small,think of ways to fight them,turn himself into,hide his tail...   Have students retell the story according to the phrases.   3. Work on 4c.   (1)Students work in groups to prepare a story.   Walk around the classroom and offer language support.   (2)Ask several students to tell their stories. Give them some little presents if they do their work well.   Step 6 Summary  In this lesson,we have learned:  New words:object,hide,tail,magic,stick,excite,Western,stepsister,prince,fit,couple,smile,marry.  Phrases:turn...into,once upon a time,fall in love,get married.  Sentences:①But unless he can hide his tail,he cannot turn himself into a man.   ②And as soon as the TV program came out more than 30 years ago,Western children became interested in reading this story...  ③Sometimes he can make the stick so small that he can put it in his ear.   Step 7 Homework  1. Review the new words and phrases in Section A 3a-4c.   2. Read the passage and try to retell the story.   3.
