| Lead the students to watch the video and understand the main idea of the video, so that they can quickly extract the key information from the video and introduce the theme. Step l:Play the video and ask the students to answer Question l in the student book and try to summarize the theme of the video. Step 2: Play the video again and ask the students to answer Question 2.(If students have trouble understanding, play the video several times.) Questions:
3. What are the “rocks" in your life? How much time do you spend on“rocks", “pebbles", “sand” and“tea"? Answers: 1. Life is compared to a jar. 2. Rocks represent the most important things in our life. Pebbles represent the other important things we need to keep our life going. Sand represents all the little things in life. Tea represents the time when we can have a cup of tea and a talk with a good friend. 3. Students' own answers. Step 1:Let the students look at the picture carefully and describe the content in it.The six pictures are divided into a roller coaster, a river, a tree, a rainbow,a book, a box of chocolates. Step 2: Ask the students to discuss the six pictures and their hidden meanings,and then choose the things that can be used as metaphors for life. Give the reasons. Step 3: Invite several students to share the results of the group discussion,and then ask other group members to make some additions. The students successfully completed the learning task in this lesson.By presenting videos and pictures from the textbook,guide the students to warm up for the whole unit. Encourage the students to do further exploration of the philosophical phenomena mentioned in the video after class. | ||||
