高二英语试卷一、阅读理解(本大题共15小题,共37.5分)A72 hours in Beijing Traveling to China is no longer a luxury for many foreign passport holders. The Chinese government has permitted a 72-hour visa-free policy that offers access to visitors from 53 countries including the US France and Austria. Let's start with the capital of China, Beijing. Here's a pick of the best in Beijing!
    Mutianyu Great Wall
Your trip to Beijing isn't really complete without seeing one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World"the Great Wall of China. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is by far the most well-preserved of all. Taking a one-hour bus ride, Mutianyu would be your ideal location for a half-day of hiking away from the large crowds in the city. Also, the authorities have allowed tourists to paint graffiti on a specific section of the Great Wall since 2014. The Great Wall was designated (把….定名为) a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987.
    Summer Palace
Located in northwestern Beijing, the Summer Palace is by far the city's most well-preserved royal park. With its huge lake and hilltop views, the palace offers you a pastoral escape into the landscape of traditional Chinese paintings. The Summer Palace was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1998.
    798 Art Zone
This would be on the top of my list! Named after the 798 factory that was built in the 1950s,the art zone is home to various galleries, design studios, art exhibition spaces, fashionable shops and bars. You could easily spend half your day wandering around the complex, feeling the contrast of the present and the past.
    Sichuan Provincial Restaurant
While in Beijing, apart from trying the city's best-known Peking duck, the Sichuan provincial restaurant is one of places where you can enjoy regional delicious food. It offers one of China's eight great cuisines,Sichuan Cuisine, which ranges from Mapo tofu to spicy chicken. How does the author describe Mutianyu Great Wall ______ A. Tourists need a half-day to arrive there.
    B. Tourists are allowed to paint graffiti anywhere.
    C. It was named a UNESCO World Heritage site 20 years ago.
    D. It is the most well-maintained part of the whole Great Wall.Where would you go first if you were the author ______ A. 798 Art Zone.
    B. Summer Palace.
    C. Mutianyu Great Wall.
    D. Sichuan Provincial Restaurant.Who is the passage intended for ______ A. The tourists who prefer to travel for free.
    B. The foreigners to stay in Beijing for three days.
    C. The visitors coming from every corner of China.
    D. The foreigners coming to Beijing for the first time.BLuo Dengping has become famous as the only woman in a group of "spider men" who climb cliffs of up to 100 meters high, without ropes or safety equipment of any kind, for the entertainment of tourists in China's Guizhou Province.
Men of the Miao people,in Southwest China, have been free-climbing steep cliffs for centuries. They originally developed this skill as part of a custom,to lift coffins(棺材) of relatives up the cliffs and place them in small caves or just hang them on the cliffside, like the Tana Toraja tribe,in Indonesia. The Miao spider men continued climbing the vertical cliffs of Ziyun,in order to collect rare medicinal plants. Today, only a few members of the Miao people still practice this ancient tradition, and one of them is a woman.
Traditionally, only Miao men were considered brave and skilled enough to become spider men,but Luo Dengping had no choice but to break social norms and take up the practice. As the daughter of a skilled spider man,and with no brothers to carry on her family's tradition,Luo began climbing the cliffs near the village when she was just 15 years old. In the beginning, she felt scared and could barely move on the precarious cliffside, but as time went by, she perfected her skills and, eventually, making her way up the giant rocks using nothing but her hands and feet became routine.
In her late teens, Luo Dengping left the village and became a migrant worker at a construction site in Guangzhou. She returned in 2000 married a villager and had two children. To support her husband, who drives freight trucks for a living, she occasionally climbed nearby cliffs in search of medicinal plants to sell. Then, in 2015 the local government decided to promote the karsts mountain as a tourist attraction, and started hiring spider men to practice their skills for entertainment purposes. Why did Luo Dengping work as spider woman at first ______ A. To make more money.
    B. To collect medicinal plants.
    C. To support her husband.
    D. To carry on her family's tradition.What does the underlined word "precarious" in Paragraph 3 probably mean ______ A. Famous. B. Dangerous. C. Wet. D. Rough.What is Luo Dengping's husband ______ A. A driver. B. A performer.
    C. A spider man. D. A migrant worker. What can be the best title for the text ______ A. The Promotion of Ancient Skills
    B. Spider Men Becomes a Must-see
    C. China's Only "Spider Woman"
    D. A Hobby Makes "Spider Woman"CThe victims were carried in one by one, their paws and fur burned, suffering from dehydration(脱水) and fear. Their caretakers bandaged their wounds, wrapped them and laid them in baskets with the only thing that was familiar -- the leaves of a eucalyptus (桉树) tree.
As catastrophic fires have burned more than two million acres in Australia, dozens of koalas have been rescued from burning trees and ashen ground. The animals, already threatened as a species before these latest fires destroyed an essential habitat, are being treated in rescue centers, and at least one private home, along the country's east coast.
The difficult situation of the koala- a national symbol of Australia- has raised questions among conservationists and scientists about what it will take to preserve biodiversity in a country increasingly exposed to intense fire, extreme heat and water scarcity. Australia has already been among the highest rates of species extinction in the world.
While koalas have evolved to exist alongside wildfires, the animals are facing new threats not just from climate change but also from human development, which has dislocated local populations, damaging their ability to survive fires. In some regions, scientists say, koalas' numbers have declined by up to 80 percent, though it is difficult to know how many remain across Australia.
"We have these unique animals not found anywhere else on this planet, and we're killing them," said Cheyne Flanagan, the clinical director of the Koala Hospital, the only facility of its kind in the world. "This is a big wake-up call."What happened to koalas after the catastrophic fires in Australia ______ A. Most of koalas have been rescued from burning trees.
    B. The koalas were taken good care of after being rescued.
    C. The victims only suffered from severe burns and a lack of water.
    D. Koalas have been listed among the highest rates of species extinction.Which of the following threats koalas face are not mentioned in the passage ______ A. illegal hunting. B. climate change.
    C. human development. D. fires in the wild. What's the author's attitude towards the situation of Koala ______ A. negative B. supportive C. worried D. indifferentWhat might be the best title for the passage ______ A. Koala --- A National Symbol of Australia
    B. Catastrophic Wildfires Burning in Australia
    C. Climate Changes --- A Big Wake-up Call
    D. Saving the Fire Victims Who Cannot FleeDAn 80-year-old man and his family may soon get a bill for the cost of his rescue mission. After an all-night search by rescuers, James Clark of Dublin,Ohio, was found "not moving and exhibiting what appeared to be signs and symptoms on low body temperature to the point of not being able to speak any clear words," according to a statement.
Similarly, in 2015a family of four received an about 8500 bill after their daytime hike left them lost in the dark and requiring search and rescueSAR. This raises an interesting question Who pays for the cost when you get lost or injured in the great outdoors
The high cost of SAR missions is what prompted states like New Hampshire to pass laws that establish programs like Hike Safe to hold individuals more financially accountable for their rescues. However, some people have called for more strict laws to shift SAR costs off taxpayers. They say such a move would ultimately make people take more responsibility, but it's a controversial idea. "Society rescues people all the time-auto accident victims, home fire victims-and at far greater cost than wilderness hiker rescues." writes Backpacker.
Critics say putting a price tag on SAR could cause people to hesitate before calling for help in emergency situations. But Heggie says this isn't actually the reason why the National Park Service doesn't charge for SAR."If an agency such as NPS starts charging the public for SAR costs, the agency essentially has to conduct SAR operations. If something goes wrong during the SAR operation, someone could lead to a lawsuit(起诉)."
Both Heggie and Kupper say the best way people can avoid needing rescue is simply by being prepared, suggesting that people research hikes before they go, pay attention to their surroundings, pack essential gear and not rely on a cellphone as a survival kit. "The best time to prevent SAR incidents is when people are still at home," Heggie said. What happened to James when he was rescued ______ A. He lost his way home. B. He was seriously injured.
    C. He couldn't express himself. D. He didn't dare to move alone. What benefit does a price tag on SAR have ______ A. To pay back the rescuers.
    B. To reduce outdoor activities.
    C. To make hikers more responsible.
    D. To discourage hikers calling for help. What is the reason for NPS to avoid charging for SAR ______ A. The heavy burden of medical costs.
    B. The possibility of being charged.
    C. The difficulty in doing a SAR operation.
    D. The fear of doing fewer SAR operations. What is the most effective way to avoid a rescue need according to Heggie ______ A. Preparing well in advance.
    B. Carrying a survival kit.
    C. Taking a cellphone everywhere.
    D. Packing necessary things.二、阅读七选五(本大题共5小题,共12.5分)A psychologist once said,"If you've overcome every one of your fears, congratulations- you're dead." This humorous saying points to a simple truth- no one can escape fear completely.
However, fear can be a good thing. It is a natural, healthy reaction to danger. In fact, sometimes we are afraid of things that aren't dangerous, such as public speaking, failing a test, or being rejected. These unhealthy fears can keep us from achieving our dreams.1 ______
First, admit what you fear and then share it with someone you trust. Perhaps you worry that others would look down on you if they know what you fear, but you might be surprised at how many other people share the same fears.2 ______
Second, ask yourself, "What is the worst-case scenario"3 ______ If you think about it,the worst might not be that bad after all. Compared with the fear of losing a competition or being turned down, the regret of having missed opportunities can be even harder to bear. Even worse, you will never know what you might have accomplished.
Finally, take small steps toward overcoming your fear.4 ______ If your talk doesn't go well, try again. Each small success will increase your confidence and persistence, which is one of the keys to success.
You might never completely overcome your fear of certain things, but what is important is that you can bring yourself to do what you fear.5 ______ It's also true that you struggle with fear and don't let your fears stop you from getting the most out of life.

    A. You will succeed, never fear.
    B. So how can we successfully face our fears
    C. So we should overcome these fears completely.
    D. This question can help you gain understanding.
    E. If you fear public speaking, start by giving a small talk to a few people.
    F. True bravery is that you feel afraid but still do what you have to do anyway.

What's worse, he found that he only had one dime(十分硬币)left. His empty stomach reminded him constantly that for days he hadn't eaten anything. He had no choice but to beg for a meal at the next house. Hesitantly he knocked at the door, thinking about what to say when it opened. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. "What can I do for you" asked the young woman. The boy paused for a while. "Would you please give me somea drink of water" the boy dare not look directly into her eyes. She looked at the bony boy and thought he might need something to give himself energy so she brought him a glass of milk. His head rising and small hands taking the cup, he drank it up slowly, and then asked,"How much do I owe you""You don't owe me anything," she replied with a warm smile on her face.
