2.预习并试做Self Check。
二、预习检测
根据句意选择合适的连词填空

课堂教学
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class.
2.Talk about the mysteries the students can think about.
3.Encourage the students to retell the content about Stonehenge.Review the words and expressions in the passage and the linking words.
Step 2 Work on 3a
1.Ask the students to read the passage in Section A 3a again.
2.Ask the students to choose some ideas and fill in the column in 3a.
Step 3 Work on 3b
1.Read the instruction in 3b.
2.Get the students to write the story.
3.Get some of the students to read their passages in front of the class.
Step 4 Work on Self Check
1.Finish Self Check 1.
(1)Ask one student to tell how to use these modal verbs and review the grammar.
(2)Get the students to fill in the blanks on their own.
(3)Ask some students to read out the complete sentences and check the answers with the whole class.
2.Finish Self Check 2.
(1)Get the students to read the instruction and the chart carefully.
(2)Review “be one’s” and “belong to sb.”.And then let the students finish the task on their own.
(3)Ask some students to read aloud their sentences.
◇教学反思◇
本课时以练和写为主。在Self Check中,第一题练习了本单元的重点语法,即情态动词表推测的用法;第二题练习了学生的组词造句能力。写作是本课时的教学重点,本课时的大部分时间用在了写作上,因此对学生提高书写能力很有好处。学生在写作过程中需要运用本单元中所学的情态动词表推测这一重要语法点,写作时还需要适当运用连接词。老师在学生写作时起到了很好的指导作用,并当堂对一些作文进行适当的点评,从而更加有效地提高学生的写作能力。
