Step1, Revision
- Translate some sentences or phrases into English.
- Complete some sentences to recall some important words in Welcome to the unit.
Step2, Vocabulary
- Yesterday we learnt something about a kind of crime ------ murder. But you know there are some kinds of crimes. Do you know what they are?
- Look at the pictures and practice the new words.
- So can you identify the different types of criminals according to the pictures? Practice the new words with the teacher.
- Complete the exercises in the book and check the answers together.
Step3, Reading
- Today let’s read a detective story. Listen to the tape and try to find out the answers to the questions.
- Read the new words after the teacher. Then finish Part B1 on page98 and Part B on page111 as quickly as possible to understand some important words.
- Read the text one paragraph by one paragraph and try to answer some questions according to them.
- Finish Part B2 by the students themselves and then check the answers.
- Read the text again by the students themselves or in pairs. Then put the sentences in the correct order.
- Complete the detective’s report with the books closed.
- Finish and discuss the other exercises in the book.
- Read and analyze the useful expressions. (Periods 2 and 3)

- Read the text carefully.
